Background History
The George inn; which still has remains of 16th century work, is said to have derived its name from a statue of St George carved in wood which a clothier removed from the porch of the parish church of Dursley, Gloucestershire and dropped from his wagon at Colnbrook on his way to London. The Princess Elizabeth stayed a night there in 1558, on her removal from Woodstock to Hampton court.

The investigation...
9.25 Arrival
We arrived at Ye old George inn at 9.25pm. After a warm welcome from the staff we were showed upstairs to rooms, 202/203/204/205. We locked off room 202 after placing a motion sensor, a locked off camera and a voice recorder.
9.50 Room 203
The team entered room 203, the lights were turned off and pictures were taken periodically. Katrinas pictures all contained a dark shadow which no other camera had picked up. The room seemed warm and welcoming with no E.M.F reading.
10.06
One of the two way radios went off by itself, but no other incidents happened in this room.
11.10 Room 205
The team entered room 205. We positioned ourselves around the room and the lights were extinguished. We then called out but had no response. After sitting in the room for twenty minutes with no activity Wendy and Steve went to check on the equipment in room 202. Upon entering they noticed that the locked off camera was switched off, this coincides with the voice recorder which was then checked, (a shuffling noise and then a click) which upon investigation was the same noise as the locked off camera being switched off, although the room was locked and the battery still on and the camera had plenty of power left.
11.35pm
Steph, Adam, and Kate left the rest of the team and proceeded to room 204. As they were taking pictures they noticed a tapping noise between the bed and the window. As they were investigating this a loud bang was heard on the door, Adam rushed to the door and found no one in the hallway and no explanation for the knocking sound. Kates camera was still picking up strange shadows which no other member of the team could duplicate.
12.45am
The team proceeded down the stairs to the bar area where a number of pub regulars and bar staff had gathered in preparation for the next part of the investigation.
12.50am
The team except for Adam (who was conducting tests in the bar area) entered the cellar. The cellar consists of two parts of a barrel room and a much smaller bottle room. The team sat in the small room. Wendy called out with a series of questions, in which the whole team heard a loud series of knocks in reply. Wendy asked again but as she was calling out the barrel pump came on, resulting in Katrina jumping across the bottle room in shock, to the amusement of the rest of the team. No other activity was reported after this incident.
1.20am
The team split into two groups. Katrina and Phil went down into the cellar with a group of pub regulars and Wendy, Adam, Stephan and Steph investigated the bar and lounge area.
The group in the cellar called out which resulted in a series of tap sounds which seamed to emanate from the back of the small bottle room wall. Katrina called out again which resulted in immediate response. The two way radio made a number of hissing noises and clicks, the same noises that we heard upstairs at the beginning of the investigation, no other incidents were reported.
1.45am
The team and guests gathered in the bar area, where Wendy was conducting a glass divination session. The glass started to move quite easily to a series of questions. Wendy got the names Dan and Dough, who we believe was one of the guests uncles who was a chef. Wendy reported she had a message for him to stop smoking immediately and the response of the guest was that he had a smoking related illness. Again a voice was heard by Adam entering from our two way radios.
2.05am
The team concluded the investigation and packed up their equipment. After taking pictures of the group and thanking the bar staff and pub regulars for their participation the team left for their long journey home.
TWO WAY RADIO OCCURANCES
Throughout our entire investigation we found we were having constant interference emanating from our two way radios. We found no faults with this equipment although the possibility of outside interference could not be discounted. We would like to add that with the radio frequencies that we use we have never encountered any problems on past investigations.
Conclusion
During the investigation of ye old George inn, the team encountered multiple paranormal occurrences. Many of which could not easily be explained. Therefore we feel that ye old George inn would require further investigation with our full team and all of our technical equipment to try to prove or disprove the many types of phenomena we encountered.
