Coach Mogavero's experience with the organization runs deep as both a coach for the senior Lady's team but also several youth teams within the Pioneers youth program. "Mogie" is also knows as a fan favorite as a member of the men's team for the past seven years before handing his boots up three years ago. He brings a great deal of knowledge which the USL demands and hopes to build on the consistency of the program to bring the Women's team to the front of soccer in Western Mass.
Coach Mogavero has held various head coaching roles at both the High School and College level. His current coaching position is as the Varsity Head Coach of Belchertown High School. In which his girls team has lead the way in Division II as a model of excellence while playing a full Division I schedule. As a result of his dedication and coaching ability, his Belchertown High School squad has reached the post season each year to include 4 league championships, two western mass championships, 2 state finalist appearances, and 1 state championship. His time with the Junior Pioneers has also proved effective with several of his youth teams reaching late rounds of the state cup as well as reaching Division I in premier play with his current U13 girl's team.
Prior to his current position, Mogavero Coached at Albany College of Pharmacy. While at Albany, his team also found success. Leading his squad to both league and conference championship's in the 1999 season. Responding to an offer to play professional soccer for the Western Mass Pioneers, "Mogie" relocated to western mass to pursue his professional career in which he was named to the USL team of the week on numerous occasions. Keeping active with the game, Mogavero currently plays in the new professional indoor league, the NISL with the Mass Twisters after spending more than 11 seasons playing in the PASL with the Albany Capital District Shockers. While playing for the Shockers, he was the teams leading goal getter for 6 of the 11 indoor seasons. Mogavero's college play was also in the New York area. As a four year varsity player at the University of Albany he also led the team in scoring three of the four years and is the 3rd all time leading scorer in school history.
Chris is also a physical education teacher within the Belchertown Public Schools system.
