J ames Miller has personally planned the low voltage designs in over a thousand custom homes in the bay area, from log cabins to 10,000 square foot mansions. I have trimmed out several hundred structured wire panels and am the best in the industry when it comes to panel design and layout. All structured wire panels come with a custom made graphic overlay of the room names to quickly find out what services flow to which room.
My 10 years as a low voltage sales consultant at HomeTech Solutions has given me the knowledge & understanding of all residential technologies that go way beyond just voice, video & data. A solid understanding of today’s high tech AV gear, flatscreen displays and the many ways to distribute digital music & video is key to providing the wire backbone of today’s custom homes in the Silicon Valley.
The homes wired by the WireGuy use all open standards and are not engineered to a spec requiring proprietary high priced distribution techniques. The home owner will be able to easily integrate any technologies in the future with ease.
I take no shortcuts on low priced web stuff when it comes to parts either. The WireGuy uses a hybrid of Open House, Channel Vision & Leviton, picking only the best of each line to come up with a great looking structured wire panel & quality trimout thought the house.
Don’t worry about what technology you may or may not put in your house, or try and second guess now what your audio & video needs will be in the future, with a well wired house, those are all decicians you can make later as long as the wire is behind the walls.
Don’t rope the electrician into doing it, don’t rely on the alarm guy to wire it, don’t guess yourself. Let the WireGuy be your personal technology consultant and design, wire or trimout your dream home today.

Commercial Experience Although my years in A/V and low voltage have come from working in the residential world, I have also wired many resturaunts, hotels & conference rooms and have gained allot of experience in the commercial field as well.
Data Jacks and Networking
DATA JACKS
Need a simple link between your TiVo and your router? Tired of Wireless not working good? Need your server linked to your rooms?
From a simple CAT5E/CAT6 run to networking the whole house, it can easily be done with the right planning. Whether new construction or retrofit, the wireguy has preformed careful home surgery to get the job done.
Pre-Sheetrock advise
PRE-SHEETROCK ADVICE
Although many electricians are versed at structured wiring, many are not. Electricians tend to get "roped" in to wiring for their hi-tech customers simply because they deal with wire.
It might be a good idea to get pre-sheetrock advice from a low voltage professional before the rock goes up on your dream house. I can identify problems based on too little wire or tell you if you’re on wire overkill. Make additional recommendations based of future technologies, or just tell you that you need a bigger wire panel to hold routers, switched and other electronics.
Audio Video Hook-Ups
AUDIO/VIDEO HOOK-UPS
Having issues integrating the latest technologies into your life? You'd think technology would be easier these days but that’s not always the case. From programming learning remote controls or controlling the cable box in the closet, I can help. Today’s AV & HDMI switching receivers don't come out of the box working perfect. Many need renaming of inputs & re-assigning digital inputs to get the correct sound and video. I'm here to help..
Home Theater Solutions
HOME THEATER SOLUTIONS
10 years in sales in the audio, video & home theater department at the Good Guys gave me the experience in planning, design & implementation of today’s home theater systems. I can work from any budget whether it’s a home theater-in-a-box to a full fledge theater with custom seating and sound treatment & lighting control. Every home should have an entertainment room to get that theater experience. Some of the best looking & sounding theaters I've seen in the passed few years have been under a few thousand dollars including TV, AV receiver and speakers. I love home theater.
Heat Managment
HEAT MANAGMENT
Many people are distributing audio and video from a single distribution point in the house. This is great however allot of people end up stacking all of their electronics in one place. Possibly a closet or a cabinet that has poor ventilation.
This can be a problem down the line as many electronics have an operating temp limit of 104c. Today’s servers and DVRs produce allot of heat and it’s important to keep these components cool for optimal performance and maximum life. Whether you just need a few ventilation holes cut into your cabinet or have a thermostatically controlled fan, the Bay Area Wire Guy can help.
Testing Verification
TESTING & VERIFICATION
Phone jacks stop working? Can’t locate a wire? Did you inherit the mess from the previous home owner? Let the Wire Guy use sophisticated techniques and his talents to track down the problem and offer a fix. Sometimes a wire splice, sometimes replacing a cable is the answer.
Survielance
SURVIELANCE
Need a little security in your life?
Crazy neighbor move in across the street? Keep would be thieves in check with a simple security camera system. Good quality DVR's are as low as $399 and affordable cameras come in all shapes and sizes. Accessing these cameras on today’s PC's smart phones is a snap. Forget QC & Costco brands, their noisy and very low quality. Stick with name brands for a quality video surveillance system that’s easy to use and record.
Whole House Audio
WHOLE HOUSE AUDIO
Distributed Audio has become a popular technology to implement thanks to today’s media servers. Smaller digital amplifiers also make adding speakers to any room without running speaker wire all over the house. If you have a large digital collection of MP3's, why keep em" contained on one PC. Share your music easily using an AV receiver’s zone 2 & 3 function or install a more robust dedicated multi-room system with digital keypads. With a 10 year audio background and 10 years in the low voltage industry as well as being a musician myself, I enjoy making distributed audio happen on any budget.
Flatscreen Mounting
FLATSCREEN MOUNTING
Just bought a new flastcreen? looking for mounting over a fireplace? or in the living room? The Bay Area Wire Guy can easily help out. With basic mounting starting at $90 bucks. If you need to run HDMI or component cables to a nearby closet, no problem. We can also offer IR (Infrared) or RF technology to control the equipment from anywhere in the house.
Hi-Def Anttena Installation
HI-DEF ANTTENA INSTALLS
Did you know that you can receive free hi-definition signals for free. Today’s TVS have tuners that receive these UHF signals and offer a stunning uncompressed picture.
Panel Clean-Ups
WIRE PANEL CLEAN-UPS
Did the wrong guy wire your panel? Frustrated with your design?
This is my specialty. I see every panel as a challenge. It’s like hi-tech artwork for me and I’m proud of every panel I do. It’s kind of like tie dye, every panel is different in some way. Remember all your cable modems, switches & routers are supposed to live inside the panel so even if you need a bigger panel, retrofitting a new one in is easy. I use a hybrid of different manufactures to come up with a quality looking panel that’s easy to use & understand. Even if your electrician wired your house, you may want a professional to make your head end come together nicely. Electricians have run from the amounts of cable I've fit into a single panel.
