Welcome to Whanganui Bay, one of New Zealands premium North Island crags. Join us for 3 days of fun, work and learning. It's also an opportunity to meet and hear about the hapu (tribe) of Ngati Te Maunga. This event is a fund raiser to help open the Marae.
To celebrate, a Hangi will be Saturday nights meal, which will be prepared by the climbers.
With over 200+ climbs on the western shores of lake Taupo this makes for a fantastic setting and a fun weekend...

7.30 – Registration tent open (also open Friday night) – ($45 per person - you get hangi/Entertainment/Workshops/climbing and camping fees – one payment for 3 days / 2 nights). Please try and register before Powhiri. No Pay no stay policy - Casual climbing is closed this weekend.
9.30 - Powhiri/Karakia by local Kaumatua.
10am – Lunch - Participate in working bee / working groups are: Hangi Prep, Route Identification, Firewood collection.
2pm – Workshops/free climbing
6pm - Hangi – Have meal with Whanau (families) from Ngati Te Maunga.
7pm – Guest Speaker.
8pm – 12am - Entertainment
10am – Workshops
1pm - Free Climbing
6pm - BBQ (bring some coin)
8pm - Entertainment
