My name is Wesley Bandemer, I had been riding and racing dirtbikes for 6 years. I played sports as far back as I can remember. I had my share of injury's, broken bones, and ER visits but never had anything I couldn't recover from. On June 10th 2006 during a motocross race I crashed and was instantly paralyzed from the neck down. I shattered my C4 vertebrae leaving me a C3-C7 quadriplegic. Before the accident I tried to be the best athlete I could be and live as active as possible.. I'm doing whatever I can to get even just a taste of my old life back.
I recently got home from a 3 month trip to New Delhi, India for embryonic stem cell injections at Nu Tech Mediworld. I regained significant strength and movement in my arms. The treatment worked so well that I am planning to go back as soon as I can. My goal is to raise $25,000 to cover everything for my next trip.
