Has life dealt you a few surprises lately? Do you feel like pulling the covers over your head and never getting out of bed? Has it been a while since you and your spouse have seen eye to eye? Do you wonder who is going to last longer: your teen our your sanity?
I'm here to help. I operate from the philosophy that most of the time we have the answers to our questions and problems within us, but sometimes we can't access them because of fear, hurt, old habits, or from beliefs that no longer serve us.
My practice focuses on helping you help yourself. My goal is to support and coach you through this process of understanding, change, and development to a place of peace and joy. I bring 26 years of experience and a variety of skills to the process so we can customize your treatment to best meet your unique needs.

Collaborative Law
WHAT IS COLLABORATIVE LAW?
Collaborative law is a new way to resolve disputes by taking the dispute out of the court room and moving it to the negotiating table. The goal is to create a win-win resolution.
As part of the collaborative law method, both sides are represented by separate attorneys whose job it is to help them settle the dispute. Going to court is not an option. If the collaborative process should break down, both attorneys are disqualified from any further involvement in the case.
Everyone involved in the process signs a contract in which they agree to disclose all documents relating to the issues; act in good faith; show respect for the other side and their points of view; insulate the children from the conflict; share experts' information and costs; solve the conflict outside of court.
Collaborative divorce is typically more cost-effective than litigation because cases are more likely to settle out of court.
Because you and your spouse will learn to work out details in a collaborative way, you will learn the skills that will help you co-parent the children well after the divorce. The process is an investment in peace of mind and skill building for you, your spouse and your children for now and in the future.
The ending of a relationship puts the family into emotional turmoil. The Collaborative law process recognizes that psychological issues exist that cannot be addressed by the legal system and specifically addresses these issues by bringing them to the forefront and using professionals such as a child specialist, a divorce coach, and a financial specialist as part of team approach to find solutions and support the family through the change process.

Weight Management and Bariatrics
The decision to pursue and undergo life changing bariatric surgery is one that should be made thoughtfully and with the help of medical experts. Bariatric counseling is tailored to help you gently and effectively prepare for bariatric surgery then support you to a successful and permanent life style change resulting in weight loss and good health.
Presurgical counseling uses relaxation, visualization, hypnosis, and cognitive behavioral therapy to help you understand--and change--the reasons you eat, your desire to exercise, and the connection between your mind and your body's tendency to hold weight. It also prepares you for the surgical procedure using relaxation and visualization.
Follow-up counseling is specialized therapy designed to quickly identify and modify emotional blocks to your ability to comply with the needed behavioral and nutritional changes bariatric surgery necessitates.
Optional family therapy offers your family education about the changes in behavioral and relationship dynamics that occur as a result of bariatric surgery.

"A crisis allows us the opportunity to dig deep into the reservoirs of our very being, to rise to levels of confidence, strength, and resolve that otherwise we didn't think we possessed. Through adversity, we come face to face with who we really are and what really counts."
