Home Welcome
Located in Spruce Grove, Alberta, Wee Paws Rescue is dedicated to rescuing and rehoming small dogs in need, in our community as well as other communities in need.
"There is no one on earth more deserving of help than a good dog who has given its heart and soul to its family and then lost its home." — Annie Simon
Saving one dog may not change the world....but it surely changes the world of that one dog.

Page 2 Our Mission
Our goal is to rescue and re-home small dogs in our community as well as those that are currently in full to capacity high kill shelters in other areas in crisis. These dogs are destined to be euthanized as there are not enough loving homes able to care for them.
All monies collected through donations , adoption fees and our own monies go towards covering the costs of travel expenses, any veterinarian costs ( all dogs are checked, vaccinated and spay/nuetered prior to adoption), good quality food, advertising/promotions,and misc. supplies such as dishes, blankets/towels,toys, crates, exercise pens etc. etc.
Wee Paws Rescue is run by volunteers with all proceeds going directly to the rescue and care of the dogs.
Adopting a shelter or rescue dog not only saves a life but helps to put a stop to puppy mills and back yard breeders (whose only interest is the dollars not the dogs), By making the puppies they produce less in demand, less profitable, we can hopefully begin to shut down some of these awful operations.
Please do your part by not supporting pet supply businesses that sell puppies for profit. The majority of these puppies come from puppy mills where conditions are deplorable and inhumane. Often the puppies they produce are unsound and have numerous health issues.
If you have your heart set on a purebred, these too are available for rescue from various groups. As well we are happy to direct you to a reputable breeder that truly has the breeds best interests at heart. It is said "If you profit from breeding dogs, you must be doing it wrong." The betterment of a breed takes much forethought and financial resources., and a good breeder wants the best home possible for the puppies they produce not the money from the first person who has it in hand.
Man's best friend depends on us for it's very life, it is our responsibilty to assure that it is a life filled with love, health and contentment. They give us at least that much in return unconditionally.
Page 3 Adoption costs - $.00 - $450.00 per dog....special rate may apply to bonded pairs or senior dogs.
What that includes - all neccessary vacinations, spay or neuter, intial starter pack with all essentials and of course life time support.
Anyone wishing to adopt must fill out an Adoption request form and meet with certain criteria to ensure these rescue dogs a loving permanent home.
We do realize the circumstances do sometimes arise where a rescue dog needs to be rehomed again so we have a lifetime open door policy. If you cannot keep the dog for any reason it must come back to us.
The welfare of our rescue dogs must at all times be our priority.
If you are interested in adopting please go to the contact page and send us an e-mail. We will forward an adoption form to you as soon as we can.
Thank You!!!
