Upper Laventille produces television and theatrical motion pictures. We seek out commercial, high concept projects and employ recognized as well as newly discovered writers, directors and actors. Our mission is to create and produce uplifting projects that inspire audiences worldwide.
Sheldon
SHELDON F. ROBINS (Chief Executive Officer) Named after Saints, Sheldon F. Robins is an award winning Producer, Writer and Actor. Born in Port of Spain, Trinidad raised in both New York and Texas after reaching the height of his professional dance career, he decided to put up his dancing shoes to follow his passion in television & film.His first production titled "Asian Invasion the Art of Combat", filmed in Seoul Korea won best documentary film in the Seoul International film Festival. Robins has also co-written Lord of the Streets starring Academy Award winning Kris Kristofferson & DMX. Sheldon also co-produced the Black Poker Superstar Invitational with Edmonds Entertainment / Eight Wonder Productions starring Eddie Murphy, Mekhi Phifer, Kevin Hart, Katt Williams and others, which was the highest rated comedy show on BET. Robins has developed (produced, written and acted) 8 full feature films for the screen, has written 3 television shows, one that is an animation (Safari-cize) which is in post production and two reality shows in which the pilot has been completed.As an actor Robins has studied immensely at the Howard Fine Studio, with a fondness for Criminal Justice, he favors detective type roles in film, with a commanding voice and presence on film, Robins is on the path of becoming one Hollywood's greatest actors.Robins doesn't have a typical filmmaker background, but does have a typical Hollywood entertainment industry story; from the professional dance world, modeling, to the commercial and print world, small screen to big screen to becoming a Producer. Having written and produced his first feature Murder 101 starring opposite Tom Sizemore and Dante Basco, he is prepping his next feature film titled Prey, which is an inside look of the professional dance world.

Directed by Sheldon Robins the film follows the career of Steelo Vasquez a professional dancer/actor/ b-boy. After a brain injury sidelines him, a community of dancers perform to help raise money for his wife and toddler. The fund raiser show (directed by Bradley Rapier) Hosted by Affion Crockett & Angelah Johnson you are certain to laugh, cry and enjoy.This is the first of several documentary films Upper Laventille has on its production slate. "444" has been shot entirely in Los Angeles.

Written by Sheldon Robins, and Skylar Testa the film follows three dancers that choose differnet paths on finding success in the professional dance world in Los AngelesThis is the second of several films Upper Laventille has on its production slate. Prey will be shot in Los Angeles, Vancouver, Canada and Tokyo, Japan.

Big JackPre ProductionUpper Laventille Productions has begun pre production on the biopic of one of the greatest boxing champions of all time . Larry Holmes. Written by Sheldon F. Robins and Michael P. Edwards, the film follows the heart of a true champion. From the shadows of Muhammad Ali, Larry was second to Joe Louis for the longest title run in heavyweight history. This is the third film of several films Upper Laventille has on its production slate. Big Jack will be shot in Manitoba, Canada, Easton Philadelphia, and Las Vegas, Nevada.

Murder 101
MURDER 101Post ProductionUpper Laventille Productions has begun principal photography on the dark thriller, Murder 101 starring Tom Sizemore (Heat, Saving Private Ryan, Pearl Harbor, Enemy of the State), who is currently featured in the current season of the VH1 reality show, Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew. Written and produced by Sheldon Robins, the film follows a brilliant female law student who signs up for criminology class and quickly realizes she has signed on for more than what she bargained for.Murder 101 was written by Robins, who also has a co-starring role. The film is directed by Michael Phillip Edwards (Sides, Runt) and also stars Paige La Pierre (Plaguers, The Jinn, Neighborhood Watch), Jamison Haase (24, Miss Ohio, Private Practice), Randy Irwin (Death Calls, LG15: The Resistance, American Heiress), Dante Bosco (This Life, American Dragon: Jake Long, Entourage) and Sam Daly (The Office, The Unit, Grey's Anatomy). Paulo Cascio (The Mile Davis Documentary, Mind of Mencia, The Sarah Silverman Program) will serve as director of photography. Shaeda Moghaddam and Robins will executive produce. This is the first of several films Upper Laventille has on its production slate. Murder 101 was filmed entirely in Los Angeles.

Story telling; that is both informative and educational. Follow along as the story explains how to incorporate exercises similar to that of animals (safe fun filled exercises). The ending result empowers the audience to resolve the conflict in the story.
