In the beginning of his career, Keith says it was all about challenging himself and proving himself, but once he got passed that, his truest art began to emerge. After you master your technique, then the real expression comes out, Keith says. I still challenge myself with new materials and new ways to produce fine art.
Trained as a fine artist and acquiring a degree in fine art, Zachs artwork, though very abstract, is rooted in classical and traditional painting training. Learning to paint what is seen is the best training for abstracting and creating what is not seen. Zach McDonald feels that art is to express and to evoke, not always the same emotion in every person, but an emotional connection that is between the viewer and the piece of art.
My goal is to show case the beautiful creation that is all around us every day. For most of us we are in such a hurry to get through the day and return home to spend some quality time with our families that we completely miss everything out side of our homes. That very frustration for me is what has moved me from long days in an office to a simpler life, enjoying nature.
I was born in Washington, DC., on June 12th, 1983. But I lived the most part of my life in Venezuela, everything began in that place with the beautiful landscapes, animals, plants and mostly the people. I started with photography as a hobby back in 1998, by the year 2002 I was working for the company behind all the car shows in Venezuela and Miami, as well as an advertising photographer.
