Victoria Sergeenko

was born in 1974 in Petrozavodsk in a musical family. Since 15 receiving valuable stage performance experience at an unusually young age. After 4 years of the Musical College, she entered in 1993 the composition department of Petrozavodsk State Concervatoire, the class of composition of professor Alexander Beloborodov, she has displayed her own musical style, which blended the classical Russian tradition with folk Karelian wise simplicity, an advanced rhythmic and harmonic content. In 1999 She has taken an Award of The All-Russian Composers Contest by S. Esenin in Moscow. In 2000 she has become a member of the Composers Union of Russia. Victoria Sergeenko's list of works includes compositions for large orchestra, chamber instrumental and vocal ensembles, choirs and songs, music for piano solo ranging from contemporary genres to jazz and electronika.

She has made compositions, musical concepts and directions for several performances at the National Theatre of Karelia. Another theatre experience of hers was participation in the "Repast on Mozart" performance staged by S. Terentjev and E. Kuzina in Petrozavodsk (2002) . Tubingen and Dessau, Germany(2003). The newest project of Sergey Terentjev and Victoria Sergeenko is an international Folk Barents Theatre staged at the Petrozavodsk Media Center "VYHOD" and the scene of Petrozavodsk Theatre "Creative Workshop" in September 2006. Victoria has several jazz projects of her own, she arranges music and sings in a vocal quintet "Summertime" and constantly collaborating with other artists from russia and foreighn countries. At the same time she is an art-director of Petrozavodsk Young Composers Contest "Music - My Soul" taking place during the traditionial City Winter Festival "HYPERBOREA".
