Virginia Club Tennis finished 4th in Silver Bracket, 20th overall at the 2011 USTA National Campus Championship at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.

Club Tennis brings together advanced and intermediate players at the University of Virginia who wish to continue to play tennis actively at a competitive level. Practices are held five times a week and matches against other colleges and universities around the state and nation are planned on weekends. The team has found success competing in matches and tournaments in the Mid-Atlantic section, and also in The National Campus Championships held each year. Apart from the practices and matches, the team also enjoys social events on the weekends.
Although this organization has members who are University of Virginia students and may have University employees associated or engaged in its activities and affairs, the organization is not a part of or an agency of the University. It is a separate and independent organization which is responsible for and manages its own activities and affairs. The University does not direct, supervise or control the organization and is not responsible for the organization’s contracts, acts or omissions.

The person you see in the picture is me, Daniel Masakayan. I am a second year student in the Political Philosophy Policy and Law program. Born at a really young age in the exotic and foreign land called Northern Virginia, Ive grown to become enamored with the sport of tennis. Ive been playing since I was seven and been teaching for the past five years. In the off chance that I have spare time, I enjoy long walks on the lawn, exploring the culinary genius of UVAs dining halls, mango-orange smoothies from the Pav, and occasionally playing tennis.

Outside of Club Tennis here at UVa, I am involved in Beta Theta Pi Fraternity and Madison House. Some of my other interests include table tennis and mountain biking.
