Matt.9:37Founded in 2002 by Dr. Michael and Adelle McKinney and a team of brilliant and dedicated pastors of smaller churches, started Promise Christian University, College and Seminary primarily as a school for pastors. Since then, the academic faculty has initiating several cutting edge programs such as Chaplaincy Certificate Program, Degree Completion, Hybrid Study and Biblical Entrepreneurship. Our faculty, many who are retired pastors and educators, are able to fuse the academic together with real world experience. This produces graduates who can teach and train and "can do" as well. Degree Programs at PCU

Promise offers the following degrees:Associate of Religious Studies or Theology Bachelor of Religious Studies or TheologyMaster of Religious Studies, Divinity or TheologyDoctor of religious studies, Ministry or theologyCertificate Programs in Chaplaincy, Biblical Studies, Pastoral Theology, Evangelism, Christian Leadership Most degree programs are in four parts: Required subjects, electives, personal ministry and emphasis.Emphasis in Christian Education, Christian Counseling, Pastoral Leadership, Christian Leadership, Christian Organizational Management, Biblical Studies, Christian Entrepreneurship, Worship and Sacred Music, Chaplaincy, Biblical Wellness, Media and Arts, Old Testament, New Testament.REQUIREMENTS: ASSOCIATE Program - 60 Units/4 Units Personal ministryBACHELOR Program - 120 Units /8 Units of personal ministryPlease submit your completed applications, transcripts and detailed resume of classes and courses your have taken, developed and taught in church, in seminary, in Bible Colleges, Schools of Ministry for complete evaluation. Life Experience is awarded for those Pastors who have been in ministry for a minimum of 5 years.) MASTER PROGRAMSMaster of Religious Studies - 30 Units and projectMaster of Divinity - 60 Units and projectMaster of Theology - 90 Units including thesis DOCTOR PROGRAMS Doctor of Religious Studies 30 units and projectDoctor of Ministry - 60 units and projectDoctor of Theology - 90 units including dissertation DOCTOR OF DIVINITYCandidates are selected by the Board of Trustees in November of year and must be recommended by a previous recipient, a member of the Board of Trustee, a PCU Regent, or Faculty member.Qualifications:Ordained ministers of the gospel In full-time ministry for a minimum of 5 years Have letters of endorsement from two ordained ministers Submit a complete resume of education, ministerial accomplishments and awards. The Doctor of Divinity Degree is given to Pastors and Christian Leaders for lifetime accomplishment and achievement in Christian ministry.

PCU Students study online or in the classroom, or at study centers located in Pasadena, San Dimas, Arcadia, Pomona, Georgia, Camaroon and Nigeria. Where ever there is a PROMISE graduate, Promise Christian University is there!

ADMISSIONS

How to Enroll:Complete an application (PCC/College or PCU/University)Include a resume of your education, training and ministry experience Request original transcripts, include copies of degrees, diplomas and awards Your pastor or minister's recommendation and one personal recommendation. Application fee $50 Promise will evaluate your package and determine what courses you need to complete the requirements for your degree program.You can begin your studies immediately through our external study program or through classroom instruction. Promise offers year round enrollment.Pre-requisites:You must be a high school graduate. If you need to get your GED - there are several adult schools that offer this program at no fees. Now is the time. Through our external studies program you can study at your own pace, in your own office at your own convenience.Most programs can be completed within two years. ONLINE

ONLINE STUDIES

Promise is offering two ways to study online:1. ELearning program. This program must have a minimum of 4 students and a maximum of 8 students. Each course runs six weeks and assignents must be completed weekly and turned in for grading. It give students the opportunity to network and chat with other students online. Classroom discussion is all handle by email.2. Web Conferencing. This new way of learning is in development. Classes are held once a week online. Students hear professors and see lectures via power point. 3. External Studies. For students who do not have access to the internet, this correspondence program is the foundation for all online learning. Students can purchase or receive text books from the school with a syllabus. Their course of student arrives via mail or email. Students are able to speak to the faciliting instructor via phone or email. Online studies do have an additional fee of $25-$50 per course.

Dr. Michael McKinney, PresidentEmail: mypcu_aol.com Dr. McKinney has been in full-time ministry as a pastor, evangelist and equipper for 46 years. Dr. McKinney is also a Chaplain (LTC) with the US Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol and a Commandant of the USV-JSC Chaplains University (Capt) with the United States Volunteers Joint Services Command. He holds the following academic degrees: Bachelor of Theology from International Seminary of Florida; Master of Theology and the Doctor of Theology degree from International Theological Seminary of California; Doctor of Divinity Degree from the International Bible Institute and Seminary of Plymouth, Florida. In 2000, he earned the Doctor of Philosophy degree in Theology from International Theological Seminary of California. 1988 - Founder of World for Jesus International Ministries1997 - The Pastors Met\work of Southern California1999 - Who's Who in religious2004 - The Pastor's Network of Southern California 2008 - President's Award for Volunteerism. An international evangelist for over 30 years, he teaches Leadership, Evangelism and the Works of Christ,

Dr. Eric Giorgio, Senior V.P. and ProvostDr Giorgio received his Masters in English at Azusa Pacific University. He is recently retired as Assistant Principal at Ayala High School in Southern California. Dr. Giorgio is the author of "Unleasing the Church," and specializes in teachers training. Dr. Nicholas Benson, V.P. Academic AffairsEmail: nicholas.benson_mypcu.comDr. Nicholas Benson is Senior Pastor of the Summit Evangelical Free Church of Pasadena. He is also the President of the Interdenominational Ministerial Association of Greater Pasadena and Altadena since 2009. Dr. Benson received his Masters at Fuller Theological Seminary and a Ph.D. in Sociology at the University of Southern CA. Dr. Benson has been serving Promise Christian University since 2007 as Academic Dean. He also teaches a unique new class called, "Rethinking the Church."
