Tara MacKenzie is a sought after vocal coach, professional folk singer, composer and recording artist. A child vocal protégé Tara entered the world with a natural ability able to hum on pitch before she could speak words. Natural ability aside, notably she studied under Dr. H Haughton, H Heatherington and under various Choirmasters into her teen years in the Peel Regional Honour Choir. Additionally she studied at University of the Nations School of Music in Amsterdam ( SOMM), received private classes at Budapest Music Academy, at Comhaltas in Dublin Ireland and spent a lifetime learning to navigate the mechanics of the human voice. Tara embraced vocal music with a passion and first pursued a professional singing and performing career at 14 years old. She has performed internationally in 15 countries. To her credit, she is featured as a session vocalist on more than 250 recordings and has performed at major folk festivals internationally. Since 1991, Tara has experience teaching primary students in a public school setting, adults in a private setting and has coached professional musicians and worship leaders who want to improve their vocal delivery while playing a secondary instrument. She has a passion for vocal integrity and is an encouraging mentor.
