When I am behind the lens I feel a sense of calm and peace whilst at the same time it can be challenging. The real payoff is when an image is created which matches that within my mind's eye. It can be such a rush of exhilharation when a moment is captured forever on film or in digital format.I hope to capture those special moments and explore the personality and character of the people in front of my lens. Every photo tells a story, with background and foreground as important in the telling as the people in the photo. The experience should be enjoyable for both photographer and model and I am more than happy to spend the time getting to the 'money shot' by mixing things up and exploring different methods to get to the stage where the model or sitter is comfortable enough to engage with the camera or one more candid in nature that may share more character than a posed photo would.
