This year social Lauren Annis put together an amazing formal. Theta actives and alums had a great time celebrating a long year of great memories.
This year the alums of Gamma Epsilon have been working very hard putting together a strong advisory board.
1. What made you want to join Theta?
During my first year of university, the people I began meeting while living in residence weren't people I saw myself connecting with, or building the lasting friendships I pictured getting from the university experience. I had met a girl who had joined theta in her first semester and after coming out to COB and seeing the wide range of activities and girls I knew that the full university experience came from joining a greek organization.
2. What inspired you to take on a large leadership role within the advisory board?
After 4 years being an active collegian with Gamma Epsilon, needless to say I became attached to the organization that gave me so much and made me who I am today. I knew that the biggest struggles our chapter faced during my time as a collegian was our lack of exposure to HQ which came as a result of a shallow alumnae-chapter relationship in recent years, so I felt the best way to give back would be to channel my efforts into building our chapter support channels from the ground up by establishing a more actively functioning advisory board.
3. How can alum become involved in the alum board?
We are always looking for new alumnae to jump on board to support the chapter as well as to give their creative input on alumnae-chapter relationship building activities. Interested alumnae can visit our website at http://uwothetaadvisors.weebly.com/index.html to learn more about what we're currently working toward and how to get involved.
4. What do you see for the future of the alum board?
I really think that having an active support network for the chapter with allow for a more seamless interaction with HQ, allowing for more of Gamma Epsilon's strengths as a whole to shine through and get the exposure as a leading chapter be seen on a higher level. In recent years we have made exceptional leaps and bounds to prove our presence within the fraternity as a whole. I feel with an added alumnae-collegian relationship our chapter will remain stronger and more cohesive as we continue to excel beyond the parameters our chapter has yet to go we're reaching whole new levels from increased membership and campus status, to scholarship and sisterhood and the alumnae board will be aimed at supporting creative ideas that foster the growth of these continued achievements.

1. What have you learn-
ed from your position
as VPD?
One incredible thing I
have learned from my
position as VPD is that re-
lationships are meaningful
and require effort to work.
This position is incredibly
important to me because
I believe I have learned a
great deal about the personal experiences of many of my sisters within the chapter. I have learned how to deal with conflict, how to organize people in order to accomplish tasks and goals, and how to deal with stressful situations.
2. What are some of the things/ experiences you enjoy about your chapter?
What I enjoy most about our chapter has to be the uniqueness of the individuals I am proud to call my Theta sisters. We say throughout formal recruitment that each girl will find her niche and that is the sorority they will belong to. I truly believe there is a certain spice that each Theta shares but at the same time, this spice is just a compliment to the different girls in our chapter. I find myself loving Theta more and more each day because I get to know all of my sisters on a deeper aspect - with time, it is not the "seniority" that makes me appreciata Gamma Epsilon more, but the increasing familiarity with the members in it. I just realized that my sisters are some of the funniest and most ambitious girls I have met thus far in my university career and I am inspired every day to find my own strengths and further develop them, as other sisters have.
3. Why do you love being VPD?
I currently love my position as VPD because it allows me to practice some of the social skills that I learn in my program. I am a nursing student and we learn about how to be an effective nurse - by employing conflict management, empathy, listening, and leadership skills. In this role, I have been able to further develop these skills, put into practice the theory I have learned about, and apply them to different situations I have faced during my role. I also love being VPD because I like listening to my sisters and I enjoy helping others find solutions to their dilemmas. I enjoy recognizing the accomplishments of others and helping my sisters feel like they are part of something great.v

1. What have you enjoyed about VPA?
I really enjoy my position as VPA because it is interactive although I still can perform tasks on my own time. I love the executive committee because of the hard work we put in and the results that we see in our chapter as the women continue to grow.
2. What are some memorable experiences you've had with VPA (ELC visit)?
The ELC visit was very memorable for me as VPA. In January, Justine Fowler came to Gamma Epsilon to provide us with guidance and leadership. She was very kind and informative for our chapter, and helped us in our continued path towards a better chapter. She was fun to be around and very approachable. I hope girls in our chapter keep in touch with her in the future.
3. What are your plans for VPA in the future?
I am really looking forward to the elections process. It involves the chapter and is carried out over many weeks. It will bring out our strengths and weaknesses, allowing us to focus on improving the bonds between our sisters.
majority of my life. Sadly, heart disease and stroke are two of the leading three causes of death in Canadians and everyone knows someone that has been affected by one or both of these diseases. By running this event to support education programs to teach people on how to live in a more heart healthy manner we are helping to break the cycle of heart disease and stroke in Canada.
