Back in April 1999 as Middle Bar (featuring Wullie and Kingy) played their last ever gig, another band on the same bill called Zero Divide (featuring Smithy and Haycock) were doing their first gig. None of them knew at the time that 3 years later they would be starting what would become UVT.After being away from the live circuit for a while, the need for each of us to start doing something again was building, talk of us doing something together on drunken nights out was starting to sound better and better. Finally in 2002 we booked a practice room and fucking done it. We wanted to do something more hardcore than any of us had done before and that would grab the gig going public by the face. Within a matter of weeks we had a full set written. 12 songs of fast, angry, stomping rage that didnt give up once. Then in March 2003 we got asked to do our first gig supporting Certain Death (now Drive By Audio) at the Path Tavern in Kirkcaldy, what a night that was. As fast as we had played our songs at practice, they were played at a blinding speed in front of our first live audience. For all who were there, we hope you had as good a night as we did. In the aftermath of that night we were asked to support the Death the following night at the Cannons Gate in Edinburgh (still one of our fav venues).Soon after, we recorded our 1st cd EYE SPY at the practice room with a couple of mics and a PC. What came out was a raw, aggressive, warts and all cd that showed exactly what we could do. Over the years the follow up cds DECEASE AND DESIST, SOUNDTRACK TO A RIOT, COMPLY OR DIE and TRIED TESTED FAILED just got better and angrier. Countless gigs and gallons of sweat later the music scene changed but we did not and we kept playing the music we wanted to and didnt give in to compromise. The 1st four cds can be found in the music section of the CHANGING FACE OF HARDCORE DVD. Over the years we have played alongside some great bands and made some good friends, to each of you we raise a beer and say thank you for sticking by us and supporting us as we do you.
