Becoming a mother is one of the most transformative experiences of a woman's life. Pregnant women and new mothers are both powerful and vulnerable. To give of oneself in order to nurture a new life requires a great deal of support, and that is where a doula comes in.
As both a birth and post-partum doula, I provide emotional and physical support for the new mother and family. Some people wonder if a having a doula will somehow step on the toes of the father/partner. Experience shows that a doula's presence actually frees up both the mother and partner to more fully engage in their individual and joint proceses, knowing that a caring but uninvolved support person is there to attend to the details.
My specialty is continuity of care. The familiarity of a constant caregiver from pregnancy to postpartum creates trust and intimacy . My basic package for birth includes one cranio-sacral session or pre-natal massage, attending the birth and three days of post-partum care. Post-partum services may be extended, and are also available separately from birth services Additional cranio-sacral and massage sessions are available to my clients at a reduced fee. I also offer cranio-sacral for babies and children .
