We all need exquisite attention paid to our bodies and souls; it is my pleasure to provide such loving care in my practice. Therapeutic bodywork has been shown to have proven health benefits, including decreased stress levels and increased vitality. You will find that sessions with me are a meeting and healing of your whole person, not just a mechanical treatment of the body. Furthermore, if you have body-related issues that you would like to bring more love and attention to, sessions with me are a comfortable and nurturing place to do that work. Setting intentions, using simple breath awareness and learning how to actively receive touch in a safe, friendly environment go a long way in deepening one's sense of embodiment and joyful participation in life.

Birth
I work in the modalities of Swedish-Esalen massage, including pre- and post-natal, and cranio-sacral work. Swedish-Esalen combines long flowing strokes with kneading, vibration and pressure points for a touch that is both relaxing and enlivening; in the Esalen tradition I typically work undraped, but am happy to accomodate your comfort level. Cranio-Sacral work is gentle yet profound modality that uses light and prolonged hand contact at different points along the body to listen or sense into the fine motion of the bones, nervous system and tissues. Delighting in this attention, the body will often begin to unwind the tension and old patterns held within. The modality is subtle, because the movement and functioning of our bodies is subtle--we are fine tuning alignement, physiological communication, hormone creation and delivery, and the body's life force: the basic cranial wave of your spine. The work is typically done with the client in comfortable, non-binding clothes. The impetus for healing is not sourced in the practitioner's directive, but the body's readiness to heal a particular issues. For this reason the work is a wonderfully sustainable form of healing--what your body is ready to do, it is ready to maintain!
