Andrew Farnden is a self made entrepreneur. He has been actively investing in property in Adelaide since 2000, buying, renovating and selling. He currently owns a multi-million dollar property portfolio and enjoys significant cash flow from his simple yet effective investment techniques.
"I was not the best student at school but it never stopped me from being successful. I realised you don't need a degree to make money, just a passion to get ahead in life."
Like many young people Andrew went straight from his final year of high school to supermarket checkout operator. He later studied marketing at university, thinking degree = money, but soon realised he wasn't cut out to be a full-time student.
Looking at various career opportunities Andrew held numerous positions in supermarkets, retail, sales and marketing, becoming the state manager for one of Australia's leading building industry suppliers. He was also developing a passion for property, and the realisation that not many employees achieve success and wealth - he had to work hard and become his own boss.
Like the stories of entrepreneurs who framed the first dollar they ever made Andrew bought his first property at age 24; still has it today and says he'll never sell it. Realising this was a relatively easy, low risk way to make money, Andrew put his energies into learning all he could about 'wealth creation' to help hone his skills in the property industry. While his first investment was steadily growing in value he was to add many more to his portfolio as the years progressed.
Andrew came from a blue collar home with hard-working parents and put the best of those attributes to work as he started reading, listening to CD's, watching DVD's, attending seminars and workshops and furthering his understanding and passion for property. He was soon supplementing his day job with a steady and solid income stream from his property investments.
Apart from buying and selling real estate Andrew has developed the art of skilful renovation which he's applied to many properties. He continues to buy, sell, renovate and add to his multi-million dollar portfolio, allowing him to live his dreams as a full-time entrepreneur and investor.
