Event's background
The foundation of the relationship between modern Britain and Thailand was laid in 1855 since Sir John Bowring, the representative of the British court, visited Siam (Thailand), and the two countries have continued to strengthen their relations and cooperation ever since. British tourists are amongst the major groups of European visitors to Thailand. Thailand has a unique culture and tradition, which has been passed on and transformed over many centuries.
The first ever Thai Festival in Norwich will take place on a bank holiday, Monday 3rd May 2010. It is a one-day-only free event at the Forum. The event will be entertaining to everyone in Norwich. You will be given an insight into Thai culture, food, performances and life styles.

Cooking class
Thai food is internationally well-known and famous. Thai cooking is a rich culture and passes through Thai generations. Thai food represents eating culture and healthy diet. Most ingredients in each recipe, especially Thai herbs, compliment and promote a good taste and a healthy diet, for example, lemon grass is significantly good for digestive system. Hot and spicy flavour is a unique of Thai food.

The Thai Film Show Case will be held at the Curve, one of the various amenities available in the Forum. UEA Thai Society and the Thai Community are to celebrating our Thai Festival, Norwich 2010 with Thai films and discussions session by the School of Film and Television Studies, UEA.
