Welcome to the Epsilon Chapter of Theta Phi Alpha!
Theta Phi Alpha: Epsilon
National Theta Phi Alpha
Bethany House:
The Bethany House Services collaborates with others to provide a full range of housing, education, and assistance programs to homeless and disadvantaged women and children.
Theta Phi's at the University of Cincinnati put on Theta Phi Bowl once a year in the first weeks of Spring. Theta Phi Bowl is a bowling tournament where members of the UC community sign up in teams to bowl. All proceeds from this event are donated to the Bethany House.
Furthermore, we also go to the Bethany House to cook dinner for the women and children on the first Monday of every month.
Other Work:
In addition to the Bethany House, we also volunteer with the men of Sigma Chi at Inner City Youth Opportunities and help tutor low income children living in the Cincinnati city limits.
Glenmary Home Missioners:
Glenmary's work is in depressed rural areas of the United States, primarily in the Appalachian Mountains, where they distribute food, clothing, and books to needy persons, and assist in providing medical care, job training and tutoring.
The House That Theta Phi Alpha Built:
Established in 1993, the common goal through The House That Theta Phi Alpha Built is to improve the plight of the homeless in any way. The chapter can seek to provide assistance to organizations that help the homeless, shelters, home building or neighborhood revitalization projects. This goal permits all Theta Phi Alphas to help those in need in their own community, while remaining united in our aim and purpose.

Did you notice our Rho Gamma penguin over some of the girls' faces in our pictures?
A Rho Gamma is a recruitment guide. During formal recruitment, Rho Gammas disaffiliate with their chapters to guide potential new members without biased opinion.
"Being in a sorority has challenged me to push myself beyond what I probably would have been able to do on my own. Anyone has the potential to experience this for themselves."
In the life of a Theta Phi, we are constantly on the move. Not only are our members engaged within our chapter but we are also leaders in the UC community.
We have members in various non-greek organizations such as Student Alumni Council, Programs and Activities Council, College Tribunals, and Student Orientation Leaders to name a few. In addition to these student groups, our members are also in honorary organizations such as Rho Lambda, and Cincinnatus.
In Theta Phi Alpha, we push one another to be better than our own expectations, developing leadership skills not only for use within our college community but for life after college as well.
It's already August and our penguins have been super busy! From Cincinnati to Colorado to Berlin and Paris, check out where our sisters have been the past 2 months of Summer!
Every Spring, the ladies of Theta Phi Alpha attend their White Rose Formal. This year, it was held on the BBRiverboats. At White Rose Formal, the new Sapphaire Man for the upcoming school year is annouced. The new Theta Phi Alpha Sapphire Man for 2011-2012 is John Marth of Sigma Alpha Epsilon.
In the spring, Theta Phi holds it's annual philanthropy event, Theta Phi Bowl. To find out more about it, check out the Philanthropy page at the top menu bar. Other events in the spring are Theta Phi Alpha Founders Day, Relay for Life, etc. Along with these events, this album also includes some of our sisters globe trotting for spring break!
In the winter, Theta Phi's stay warm by holding plenty of sisterhoods events such as tie-dye events and work out classes right at the Theta Phi house. In addition, we attending events such as Cincinnati Dance Marathon. Of course, we can't forget the Theta Phi Winter Semi-Formal!
Greek Week is an annual philanthropy event put on by all social fraternities and sororities. This year's Greek Week was themed Broadway. Some of the Greek Week events include Step, Lip Sync, God & Goddess, and Greek Games. To see videos of these events check out the UC Greek Life Facebook page!
Can't believe fall flew by so fast. As one of the busiest times of the year, Greek Life is jampacked with events. Homecoming, Formal Recruitment, Derby Days, and Halloween just to name a few.
Bid Day! One of the most important days during a sister's years in Greek Life. This is a day that is not only exciting to new members but also to active members all over campus. Welcome home baby penguins and Rho Gammas!

Once a Theta Phi, always a Theta Phi. Epsilon celebrates her alumnae by holding the annual homecoming brunch and Founder's Day event. This year, there will be a homecoming dinner as the parade will be on Friday evening.
Theta Phi Alpha just celebrated our 99 years of sisterhood this past April at Founder's Day! Next summer, we will be celebrating our centennial in Ann Arbor, Michigan at National Convention. Click here to see what Nationals has planned. Hope to see you all there!
Graduated in the 70s? Theta Phi Alpha will be hosting an alumnae only event this Fall at the newly renovated Theta Phi house. Be sure to fill out the contact form to the right or click here to go to the alumnae facebook group.
We also engage our parents in activities so that they can understand our love for Theta Phi Alpha. In the past we have hosted Father Daughter events such as going to a Cyclones hockey game at the US Bank Arena. This spring, we held a Mother Daughter event with "Cooking with Caitlin" where we sampled innovative twists on everyday meals.
If you have any questions on Theta Phi Alpha and sorority life for your daughter, please fill out our contact form on the contact page. Don't hesitate to ask!
