The Tri-State Graduate Chapter of Swing Phi Swing Social Fellowship, Incorporated® was conceived on October 28,1979, when Sisters With Interest Never Gone, who had attended and pledged S.W.I.N.G. at various colleges throughout the country came together in the spirit of sisterhood to continue the mission of our national non-profit service organization. These 12 dynamic TRI-STATE Ebony Pearls, saw the need for Swing within the states of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

The Tri-State Graduate Chapter was reknowned, in the community and organization-wide for their outstanding their outreach service efforts within the tri-state area. Unfortunately, years later the Tri-State Graduate Chapter went into a brief hiatus. During Swing's 25th anniversary, former national president and founding Tri-State member Cheryl Phipps-Kornegay, addressed the need for NYC Tri-State reactivation. Moves were made and sisters stepped into action with Sisters Linda Smith, Treasrea Cornelius and Charlene Reyes paving the way! Sisters gathered and planned- these labors of love produced the re-birth of your chapter in 1994.
The Tri-State chapter has grown exponentially since it's fruitful reactivation. Service projects, such as supporting scholarship inituatives, disease awareness and prevention programs and efforts research and clothing & food drives, that were started in 1979 are still a part of Tri-State's current intiatives. The vision and mission of Tri-State Graduate Chapter remains consistant after 30 years of servicing the tri-state areas of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut and spreading the philosphy of Swing Phi Swing S.F.I. ®.
