Trephine is a South African photographer based in
Cape Town.
Contrary to other photographers he did not create a camera from salvaged materials at the age of 4, nor did he build a darkroom under the floorboards at the age of 7.
In fact he was scared of the dark until the age of 14.
After school he realised his strange creative vision was better expelled through photography,
rather than the finger bruising medium of drawing.
He now freelances while creating his own personal images in his spare time...
In progress at the moment is the photographic essay about the fire department in Cape Town, giving the viewer a look inside the routines and events of firefighters, specifically the crew of fire pump E13.
An ongoing photo essay looking at the life of a firefighter.
