Where do we locate radical gender? What literal and conceptual landscapes cultivate gender liberation? This talk asks how community manages, sustains and rejects inhabitants, and offers some examples of transgender-feminist performances, built environments and happenings that expand community formation. There will be a screening and discussion of the film Maggots and Men. We will explore the body politic of trans-feminist thought by thinking through restrictions placed on community and limitations placed on the body. We will work to identify moments of intellectual and political collaboration for lesbian, feminist, queer and transgender activism.
