This is a rural community with an eclectic mix of summer cottages and year-round residences, consisting of site built homes and older and newer mobile homes.
We are bounded by Lake Huron at the north and M-25 at the south, at the tip of Michigans thumb. The closest town is Grindstone City, about 3-1/2 miles to the west. What some might think of as inconveniences are what help to keep this what it is - a rural area for nature lovers that is away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The private park for residents only has over 300 feet of frontage on Lake Huron. It is often used for family get-togethers, ball games, hitting golf balls, flying kites, fishing, and nature watching. The shoreline is a mix of sand, beautiful rocks and shoreline vegetation. You cannot easily pull up more than a rowboat, so the lakefront remains quiet. Those with larger boats take them to nearby launches.
Years ago when this development was planned, the lots were considered large. With modern regulations at least 2 lots are now required for adequate area for the building, septic field and water supply. Many owners have several lots that provide highly valued open spaces. Roads are maintained by contributions from the property owners.
For more details regarding this development, see the Property Report .
If you enjoy quiet natural beauty the way nature designed it, in a relaxed, unpretentious neighborhood where neighbors roll up their sleeves if you need help, or just leave you alone if you prefer; if you enjoy being surrounded by woods and abundant, diverse wildlife - then this may be the place for you.
If you need city services, paved roads, well-groomed beaches with boat docks, a convenience store nearby, and like keeping up with the Joneses, this may not be what you are looking for.
