September 2011:
Gok’s Road Show:
WOW first paid job and I get to work as a runner for Gok Wan’s new Road Show! What a crazy experience of a live show and a TV shoot. But wasn’'t anything I am not used to (Running around like a mad women). I had a wonderful insight in to Vox Popping the public of Southampton, we met some VERY glamour’s granny’s! I have not done much in TV so this was a great way to see a large company like “Remarkable” works. There had to be compromises of shoots due to timing of the live show, an the get out. I didn’t think about it before but even the star Gok had to work very hard, who arrived on set with the rest of us and was one of the last to leave! He was great to meet and work with as were Remarkable! Thank Guys!
Queen Mary’s College:
My 6th Form College has welcomed me back to help not TAKE but TEACH A2 devising. The groups age is between 17-18 and are wonderfully creative and excitable ! I am trying to push them along with their teacher, who was a huge inspiration to me at college, to GET THE COURSE WORK DONE!! But also enjoy the devising process and think out of the box and push the boundaries. My two key notes of recent classes had been “be playful and be disciplined” (I am starting to sound like a teacher). But it is such a wonderful experience I am taking in all I possibly can. This could be a great career path for me to take. It is so rewarding and engaging, and constantly challenges me, keeping me on my toes as much as I am to them. I hope I am helping them as much as they are helping me creatively as my mind is full of ideas!

A brief spell with The Point and There Youth group who did a wonderful show of “Jungle Book”, was great to see young kids so passionate about theatre in different styles and giving an audience a cracking show. Great experience in terms of site theatre as the whole show was at Itchen Valley Park, a beautiful country park just out side Southampton.
The River Peoples “Little Matter” fundraiser at Spinney Hollow
BRILLIANT! What a day and night. Being asked back by the guys was such good fun, we spent the day in the woods cutting hazel and all sorts down to decorate the out doors theatre that the Wagon Band was to perform on after the show and to decorate the River People; Gypsy Caravan that is there portable stage! It was another magical evening of spell bounding visuals and soothingly mesmerising words. Thank guys! Hope to see you soon!

March 28th 2011:
Fighter Boys is well underway! After last weeks planning and RP classes I feel we are ready to move in to the final stage of devising. That means the last heart breaking scene, and we have BIG IDEAS! We are finding the second by second break down of scenes a long task, however when it is put together it is so worth it!
In production meetings we are finalising set and props today! Costume is nearly all here, the cast are looking and sounding more like 1940s ladies as the days go by.
My understanding and process are developing constantly, I am starting to fully understand what I am about in service to theatre and where I sit with in this massive creative industry. After massive discussion and debate in the park with fellow practitioner of dance theater Rachel Wilson. We have already started planning our first collaborative show, after June. Rachel like myself is interested in the concepts of play, childhood exploration, story telling, physical exploration, audience and natuer. We are planning a sensory extravaganza, working with the text, Haroun and the Sea of Stories, by Salmun Rushdie! Taking inspiration from, The River People, Les Elepant Terrible and Hiccup Theatre. We are both every excited by collaborating our company’s Spinning Top Tales and Dizzy Heights, to create some truly creative and innovative work to give to the industry. So watch out for more on that!
