Review: In Through This Devour by Tier Instinct 11/21/2009
Tier Instinct's long-awaited album In Through This Devour stands out as a true masterpiece of dark ambient evocations. From the powerful attuning opening title Between all the way through to the beautiful closing track Mutual Exchange, Tier Instinct has done a marvellous job in accustically summoning up the archaic & darwinist portions both within the subconscious mind & the course of events within the universe. What is to be discovered is most refined fuel that lets the black flame within burn fiercer. The composition's brilliant dramaturgy & Tier Instinct's strong & dense voice forge an unparalelled triumphant psychodrama.
All thumbs up!

A truly inspiring piece of creative spoken word work. The track "In Through This Devour" is nothing more than a 2 minutes 40 seconds of sense indulging master class, with twists and turns to suit the eager of minds. I have had the pleasure of listening to 2 tracks from this album, and each track thus far has had it's own personality. The tracks build, creating a wall of noise designed to make you listen. Do I want to hear more? Yes, It's top of my list to go and buy when released.
I am proud and honored to have been one of the first to play this on Deep Six. I look forward to playing more and giving this the promotion it truly deserves.
What more can I say than....awe inspiring!

I totally endorse this work! His voice is remarkable, the work is solid, and it is the kind of thing you proudly play for friends and say "I know this guy, isn't he cool?"

Tier Instinct: In Through this Devour
Black House Tribute Records
For those of you who enjoy the soundscapes and spoken word of NON, specifically the 'Might' album era then I am certain you will enjoy Tier Instinct: In Through this Devour. You will be transported through realms of Lycanthropic hunting grounds, sensuality and even madness on this fun filled ride through the mind of one of our fellow travelers of the Left Hand Path. So, sit back, dim the lights, light the candles, break open the Absinthe and enjoy. I did.

ITTD Review by Citizen Enki 08/01/2008
Tier Instinct has successfully created a total environment of sound in his collection of his spoken works, "In Through This Devour", in which the listener is delightfully transported into the dark and carnal realms of the mind.
Citizen Innominandum's thoughts about In Through This Devour 07/21/2008
Citizen Innominandum Writes:
Ok all, I am certainly not as eloquent as so many of the other wonderful reviews but I wanted to put in my " average satanist-on-the-street" promotion of My good friend's album.
I got to hear several tracks and I, frankly, was stunned to silence. This, As many of you can attest, is virtually impossible.
This is not just some spoken word CD. It is not a bunch of poems and quips read aloud or even acted out. This is a aural experience like you have never had. The quality of Tier's amazing voice demands a presence that I can only describe as very similar to the Good Doktor's. The tonal experimentation and musical accompaniment is reminiscent of the early Boyd Rice and gel with Tier's vocals to create a dark and brooding citadel of darkness.
Tier is a friend of mine and I remember receiving small comments here and there about the progress of his "special Project". I thought the damn thing would never be done. I pictured wheeling my geriatric carcass to his end of the ROHO the ROOSTER home for aging Satanists and hear that he is STILL working on this project. THIS... is well worth the much shorter that anticipated wait. I personally know how much of himself he puts into every single thing he does in life and this album is no different.
Even if you have never heard of Tier Instinct, even if at this point you are only thinking of purchasing the album to support a COS member, this album will blow you away.
Congratulations my good friend. Your sweat and blood have summoned greatness from the darkest realm and shall bring you a just reward.
HAIL TIER INSTINCT!!
HAIL SATAN!!

Witch Nine Wrtes:
"I just finished listening to "In Through This Devour" and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. I can't even come close to putting it as eloquently as Warlock Blackthorne did in his description, but I find he was right on the money. It is very difficult to pick a favorite but I did especially like "April Flowers", "In Through This Devour", "Awake", and "A Mutual Exchange".
I'm sure that Nereus would be happy to add any one of your tracks to the play list when you are ready to release them."
"Thanks for sending me the CD, it is a great addition to my collection of CoS Member contributions.
HS! "

Tier Instinct: In Through This Devour
{XLIII A.S. Genre: Spoken, Instrumental.}
Track List:
1. Between 2. Man Wolf 3. April Flowers 4. In Through This Devour 5. The Hat Trick 6. Omen I-II 7. Illusions 8. Awake 9. A Mutual Exchange (Featuring Ladie Loki).
Potent enunciations of Atavistic evocation, relating everything from fictional horror scenarios, to erotica, brutal reality, and Magical invocation, which leads to materialization:
In an almost 'backward masking' style, Between is an intriguing introduction presenting demonic voices in contemplative rapport.
Man Wolf: Reminiscings on lycanthropic metamorphosis featuring the reverberating throes of a mighty thunderstorm and the fierce echoing of a monstrous hell hound's howl into the night who unmercifully takes his prey.
April Flowers is a playfully salacious poem about three witches who make their way downtown on a warm April night, to the delight of on-lookers...
In Through This Devour blasts a strong and willful voice calling upon the dread Hellementals unto manifestation, with distant screams of terror. A familiar experience.
The Hat Trick offers a ghoulish spectacle, and an amusing method to control gridlock...
Omen I-II: A morbid little poem relating the mysterious circumstances surrounding a boy's father's demise, and the superstitious translation of relatives.
Illusions brings forth a hypnogogic impression, dream-like and floating through an intoxicating mind brew of spectral visions.
Awake brings forth the demon-beast of destruction loosed from the fetters of pure hatred, as his vile victims cower and are consumed.
A Mutual Exchange is a wonderfully erotic poem about the tranferrence of The Command to Look and mutual communication of The Mating Signal. Features the sultry voice of Ladie Loki as the succubus who has chosen her incubus master, while gleefully constricted in the smooth, cool touch of chains and the sharp sting of leather.
The splendid cover artwork features 'Death's Clock' by Citizen Aleuranthropy, as a memento mori to the contemplator. [ www.aleuranthropy.com ]
For those who appreciate the spoken works of Boyd Rice, In Through This Devour features Nine tracks of furious and commanding voices which echo through the ethers, accompanied by accentuating sound effects to create a darkly exhilarating ambiance, resonating from the deep subconscious abyss...
5/5.
