Guided tour in Taiwan :
Day 1: Taipei - North coast - Taipei (this tour can also be booked as part of the Taiwan Congress package)
Breakfast and lunch included.
After driving to the Yehliu Geopark (famous for its unusual rock formations created by sea and wind erosion, such as the Queens Head and the mushroom-shaped rocks), we will move on to Jiufen. Here we will visit Bisha Fisherman’s Wharf and experience the charm of local village life.
Jiufen is a former gold mining town built on a steep mountain slope and it still retains an old-fashioned and traditional character. We will stop for a Chinese lunch at a local tea house and admire the breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the Gold Ecological Park from a high point.
Day 2: Taipei - Taroko
Breakfast and dinner included.
On day 2 we will head to the magnificent Taroko National Park through the Snow Mountain Tunnel (the 5th longest road tunnel in the World) and see the unique marble gorge.
After a 3 hour drive, we will visit Gorge Gateway , Eternal Spring Shrine , Swallow Grotto and Tienhsiang.
Day 3: Hualien/Taitung (Chihpen)
Breakfast and dinner included.
In the morning we will drive along the East Coast to the village of Chihpen that is famous for its hot springs.
Along the way we will visit Cisingtan, Stone Steps, Eight Immortal Cave, Sansiantai, Dulan and Siaoyeliou .
Day 4: Chihpen - Kaohsiung - Foguanshan
Breakfast and dinner included.
On day 4 we will drive south to Kaohsiung, the largest city in southern Taiwan. We will visit the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas and the Spring and Autumn Pavilions on Lotus Lake. We will also visit the harbour town of Cijing and take a ferry ride with locals.
We will then continue to Foguanshan Monastery - the largest monastery in Taiwan and visit the Main Shrine, the Buddhist Museum and Great Buddha Land.
Day 5: Foguanshan - Tainan - Sun Moon Lake
Breakfast and dinner included.
If you get up early enough on day 5 you will be able to hear the early morning chanting in the monastery.
On day 5 we will say goodbye to Foguanshan and drive north to Tainan, the first capital city in Taiwan. Here we will visit the Confucian Temple, Chihkan Tower and Anping Tree House .
We will then continue on to the Sun Moon Lake where we will spend the evening.
Day 6: Sun Moon Lake, Taipei
Breakfast included.
On day 6 we will visit famous sites around Sun Moon Lake such as Hsuan Tsang Temple, Wen Wu Temple and TseEn Pagoda . We will travel around Sun Moon Lake in a motorboat and enjoy the spectacular views from the lake.
We will then drive back to Taipei.
