Home Why join a plain old sorority when you can create a sisterhood for life? We, the sisters of Alpha Phi Theta Xi at Shippensburg University, pride ourselves on our chapter's bond and closeness. For each and every sister has a unique personality that is the heart of our sorority. We live by the motto, Union Hand in Hand.Being in Alpha Phi isn't only sisterhood though, it is about bettering yourself. Alpha Phi provides plenty of networking opportunities, as well as raising money for our own personal charity. Alpha Phi creates stronger women, ones who truly believe in themselves, as well as their sisters.As you look around the website ask yourself one question, do you want to wake up in the morning and regret joining a certain sorority? Cause we don't.

History

FOUNDED: Alpha Phi was founded in 1872 at Syracuse University by 10 outstanding women.The sisterhood of Alpha Phi now stretches from coast to coast through 151 collegiate campuses and more than 200,000 members.

SHIPPENSBURG: Alpha Phi at Shippensburg was founded in 1992 by two local sororities. making them the Theta Xi chapter. Currently, we have 46 sisters, making us the largest sorority at Shippensburg.

NATIONAL COLORS: Silver and Bourdeux

CHAPTER COLORS: Navy and Raspberry

MASCOT: The Phi Bear, named after the constellation "Ursa Major," or the Great Bear.

FLOWERS: The Ivy Leaf, The Forget-Me-Not, and The Lily of the Valley

CHARITY: Alpha Phi supports cardiac care and prevention in women with the Alpha Phi Foundation.
