Who do you know that can casually walk into a radio station, never before having written a commercial and win Peoples Choice in the Year in Review for one of the hottest radio stations in the nation? How many people can say that the writer and director of The Five Heartbeats, Mr. Robert Townsend said to the world on national television that they are Brilliant? Weve heard the stories of someone working for a record label, starting off at the bottom and working their way to the top. To use the age old cliché, A single parent of African American decent would be a waste of time. But to start at the bottom and claw their way to the top with only a GED to stand on, speaks volumes.
