The Night Shift is a dynamic four piece function band delivering funky pop rock covers of hits by popular artists past and present.
All members have a wealth of experience performing on stages large and small to audiences around the world. From the cosiest of pubs or clubs, to the largest of weddings or corporate events, any event can be professionally catered for.

The Night Shift is the coming together of four good friends who have shared countless experiences in different bands together over the years. Each member brings a wealth of experience of playing all around the world, a professional attitude and the simple joy of performing music to every gig.

Camilla has been singing since she could talk!! After a teacher recognised her natural singing ability she was encouraged to join the school choir (which didn't take a lot). At just 10 years old she sang her way in the Leicester Philharmonic Youth Choir despite the minimum age being 12, this involved singing in churches and venues all over the country including The Birmingham Symphony Hall. Aged 12 she began private classical training competing in local music festivals and particularly enjoying Italian pieces for which she was often placed 1st .
After completing her GCSE's at Groby Community College gaining an A* in Music, Camilla went on to study with Access to Music gaining an intermediate diploma in Contemporary Popular Music and widening her musical tastes massively. Camilla enjoys all genres of Music and has worked with many musicians in varying styles. It was at Access to Music that Camilla gained confidence in performances and was asked to join her vocal teacher in original rock band 'Pink Strip'.
Having sung with Pink Strip for 4 years, Camilla went on to performing accoustically with the wondeful Pete Martin and Justin McDonald, playing locally and forming professional relationships with both venues and musicians alike. Camilla is enjoying singing with The Night Shift massively and regards Doug, Alfie and Pete as her 'dream team'.
Pete started playing guitar at the age of 15 in 1990. Throughout school he was encouraged to pursue music until 1995 when he was accepted on the Access To Music Course. He graduated in 1997, walking away with the second highest grade in the country. His guitar playing at that time was to a very high level; two of the tutors already had Pete standing in for the regular guitarists in their own gigging bands. One of these bands, Young Guns (a 70s & 80s party band) was to eventually offer him a full time lead guitarist position. This band worked the UK pub and holiday camp circuit and toured English and American Army bases in Germany. The other band was Till U Drop, a soul act that played numerous high energy corporate events.
At one of these gigs was American rapper Ralph Dog. Ralph hired Pete and the rest of the rhythm section to record his next album Lifes a Bytch, which had a worldwide release in 2000. A few years later Pete was asked to audition for the David Bowie tribute band, Gene Jeanie, for whom he completed a summer tour playing in some of the top London venues.
In 1999 Pete joined the 80s Experience, an eighties tribute band managed by Scott Mackenzie. This band has worked throughout the UK, Ireland, France and the Middle East and as such, has gained a very highly regarded reputation. Working in the Eighties scene gained support slots from TPau and Paul Young, plus a one of gig with Tony Hadley ex-Spandau Ballet in Madrid. He left this group in 2010 after he felt like he'd lived the worst decade twice!
During the day Pete teaches at four Leicestershire schools and colleges. He has also contributed to various musical courses for students at De Montfort University, Leicester.
Like most other guitarists Pete is always chasing that dream tone and has worked with Matamp in 2006, helping them add (and sometimes remove) features found in their existing range of guitar amplifiers. More recently Pete has been working in conjunction with MJW amplifiers and currently has three very different sounding amplifiers which can cover all sound bases required.
Alfie has been playing the guitar and bass for over twenty years and writing and recording music at home for nearly ten years. He graduated from contemporary music college in 2001 where he majored in guitar and studied composition and music technology.
Since successfully graduating from music college Alfie has maintained a career in music. This has included working as a Technician/Lecturer for a music college as well as performing all round Europe with original and cover bands playing venues of all sizes, cruise ships and supporting established acts.
Alfie is also Berklee College of Music trained mastering engineer where he studied Audio Mastering Techniques under the guidance of renowned mastering engineer Jonathan Wyner. Currently working as an audio engineer for a successful computer games developer, Alfie never feels more at home than behind a studio console, mixing and mastering music.
His love of music is huge and ranges from the heaviest of metals to the funkiest of slap bass; from the cheesiest pop to the lowest subs of drum'n'bass.
Doug has been gigging professionally since 1994. Doug has performed for both signed acts and in covers bands all over the world including Ireland, France, Poland, Spain, Ibiza, Italy, Bahrain, Oman and on cruises all over the world. Doug has been booked professionally playing a variety of instruments, drums, percussion, bass, guitar and vocals. He has an extensive amount of recording studio experience and co-owns a studio with his brother.
Doug is a well respected music and drum tutor, sharing his skills and knowledge with up and coming talented students on Leicester College's music course.
Doug’s amazing recording and performance experience bring a solid basis for The Night Shift to build on both musically and with their stage craft.

From the cosiest corners of an intimate pub to the large and open stages of the clubs, we love getting back to our roots.
For these gigs the band will play two 45 minute sets of funky pop rock covers guaranteed to keep your patrons entertained.
We have all our own backline, lights and PA etc so can tailor our equipment to suit the gig or event.
Corporate & Weddings
Functions, private parties, coroporate events, weddings, bar mitzvahs, summer balls and even wakes, we play 'em all.
For these events the band will play two 45 minute sets of funky pop rock covers guaranteed to keep your patrons entertained.
Or for the quieter, more intimate affair the band can also perform as a full Acoustic Band (vocals, guitar, bass & percussion) offering a lighter option for a more mellow occasion.
We have all our own backline, lights and PA etc so can tailor our equipment to suit the party or event.

At the evening reception the band will play two 45 minute sets of funky pop rock covers guaranteed to get you and your guests dancing!
Before, between and after the live band sets we can also provide disco music therefore eliminating the need for a seperate DJ.
Lights, lasers and smoke machines are also used to create the ultimate party atmosphere to help really celebrate your wedding.
