Welcome
1997. The Long Eaton Invaders complete a successful Premier League campaign at the much loved Station Road.
2011. A full fourteen years after the last wheel was ‘turned in anger’ by a Long Eaton rider. This year, at the start of a decade, the Invaders are back on the shale. It might not be at Station Rd, it might not be as part of the Premier League programme. It is however, the very first steps in resurrecting this great club.
The Long Eaton Project is in its infancy, the primary objective, of course, to secure a permanent site for a stadium that as a club, we can call our own.
We have to be realistic and accept that this objective is going is not going to be achievable overnight. What is achievable? Having a Long Eaton team battling it out on track, that is achievable, and will happen in 2011.
Raising the awareness and the profile of the club to a degree that it becomes impossible to ignore the clubs ambition and future potential. That has to be our primary goal in 2011. This year, we aim to build the foundations of a club that could, once again compete at League speedway level.
2012 is our target date for a National League application, which we hope will be part of a ‘track share’ agreement.
It’s going to be an exciting year for ‘our’ club. With your support, the Long Eaton Project will flourish and thrive..
