About Us
The folks from QIRKZ have completely taken over the club on the corner of their street: and (on account of all the camels), CAMELOT - a more intimate and fully legal version of QIRKZ is up and running!! And like QIRKZ, Camelot is a boutique venue that is a home in Sydney for home all manner of World, Jazz, Cabaret, singer/songwriters and other Acoustica. Part of the radical facelift and reinvention of the space is presenting 2 stages: the music stage (with a beautiful 30's German Grand Piano) and the sideshow stage (for smaller musical acts, as well as burlesque, magicians, contortionists, hullahoopers and other carnivalesque offerings!), and the dance-floor will ensure many a fun foot-stomping night!

Upcoming Shows
This week, we have two private parties (best place in Sydney for a party folks!), and just ONE show...and it's a corker!!Don't miss...Fri 1st July - THE JANE AUSTEN ARGUMENT (Melb)"An ultra-talented hybrid of Tori Amos and Tim Minchin" (Australian Stage)"The most exquisite cabaret you'll ever see" (Aussie Theatre)**Winner - Best Cabaret, Adelaide Fringe Festival 2010**The Jane Austen Argument are a Melbourne-based indie cabaret noir duo who combine raw ballads and sharp tongues with chaotic abandon and overtones of anti-folk and punk love.Brought together through a chance cigarette break encounter (I have a cabaret show and need a pianist. I'm a cabaret pianist in need of a show.), a shared love of Regina Spektor, Nick Cave, dressups and theatrical musical convention, The Jane Austen Argument's Tom Dickins and Jen Kingwell have been playing together since around September 2009, although it mostly seems a lot longer. From their very first performances together, the obvious connection that the two share onstage, along with their passion for performance and emotionally captivating songs, has made The Jane Austen Argument almost compulsive watching. They're just as likely to be found playing intimate house gigs and guerilla Twitnics (gigs in parks publicised via Twitter) as 'serious' gigs at venues from the Northcote Social Club to the Sydney Opera House.2011 has seen The Jane Austen Argument really hit their stride - so far the band has toured nationally with Amanda Palmer, released their debut EP The Birthing Pyre (which debuted at #4 on the International BandCamp charts), sold out several shows at the 2011 Adelaide Fringe and directed the award-winning "Damsel In Shining Armour" (Best Cabaret, 2011 Adelaide Fringe). The Jane Austen Argument are currently working on their first full-length record, set to be recorded in Seattle, USA in late 2011, after their first Edinburgh Fringe Festival season and Europe/US tour.Prebookings just $15!!!
