Origin of the funhouse
Admission price includes both attractions, the Cavern and The Funhouse this year whose stories and theme tie into together to form the largest haunted attraction in the Tri-Cities !
You know those stories of traveling carnivals that ventured through the countryside, stopping at small towns along the way to the delight of young an old alike ? The FUNHOUSE was once a part of one of these merry-making shows. That is until the disappearances started. First it was the odd teenager here and there..maybe they just ran off together folks said, but then the children started vanishing at an alarming rate. It was soon noticed the vanishing children coincided with the arrival of the carnival. On a warm Fall day in October the towns people rose up in typical mob-style and march on the carnival grounds in Blountville. The freaks and clowns ran into the Funhouse where the crowd pursued them. What they found filled them with horror and disgust. They set torch to the entire building..flames burned all night and the embers wouldn't cool for weeks. The entire mess was buried in what is now Appalachian Caverns to be forgotten. That is until the caverns were cleared out and made into a popular tourist attraction. A grave disturbed will always bring retribution..so it was The FUNHOUSE rose from the ashes that very October and every year since..claiming those foolish or brave enough to enter it's depths and face it's twisted denizens..just follow the faint scent of cotton candy on the wind and the crying of the calliope... Will you join them ?
If you would like to sponsor The Funhouse and/or Haunted Appalachian Caverns we would love to work with you. We are interested in monetary donations of course but we also like building materials which can be any number of things, please inquire. Even donating your time or employees time would be greatly appreciated. In return we offer advertising at our haunt locations, on our displays and posters around the tri-cities area. We do seasonal and year long advertising/donation programs. One involves the details mentioned above the second would be year long advertising at Appalachian Caverns.
We love to help charities. If your cause is needing help please contact us. We are interested in partnering with you and possible donations from us directly as well. If you would like to run a concession stand , gaming booth, even get your band to play at our October Haunted event all are do-able. If you would just like to earn money for your school group or club we can help with that too. For example, drama clubs can earn money by acting in our haunted attractions. Please inquire for details.

Haunted Appalachian Caverns has a long history of getting the screams whether that be from the real ghosts that lurk on the property even before the caverns were opened as an attraction, or the haunted cave put on every October. In the past we've done themed events like Pirates, our Silent Hill inspired : The Abyss , or the new CarnEvil Klowns / The FUNHOUSE !
This year the cavern itself will be host to the freaky family of carnies from The Funhouse, they're lurking in there in the dark holes underground, waiting to make you part of their sideshow ! Look up or look down..you still won't see these Kreeps coming !
In the campground the CarnEvil Klowns have created their own attraction. THE FUNHOUSE ! 2600 square feet of grease-painted terror and fun ! There's always something new to see in The Funhouse..will it be you ?
