Dear Reader,
In some efforts to not sound insincere, it’s important to understand that since an early age I have devoted my life and mind to the remarkable world of the arts. With no formal arts education but an un-moveable belief in my own artistic vision, it has been interesting. With only a great understanding of what it means to be blessed, I can say that that vision has taken my art and myself to places as far as museums in Peru all the way to designing custom furniture for condos in Panama.
PS: When I was young I sometimes though if you told too much of your vision perhaps it would be scared away, never to return. So I’ll simply say that my art is absolutely from the heart and created just for you “the viewer”.

Much of Medrano's work feels methodically aged, but it doesn't belong to any particular historical era. His paintings sometimes feature hairless, nude humans and contain a mechanical element or a depiction of an apparatus that is merged with human elements. At times his sculptures resemble elaborate wooden frames that incorporate exaggerated puppets, mechanisms, electronic devices and lighting elements. The wood is usually darkly stained and coated with bright-colored paint, which Medrano scrapes and sands away, creating a kind of antique patina. Many works also include photographs taken by wife and collaborative partner, Katy Anderson. These photographs are featured as both backgrounds as well and prominate subjects. Their collaboration began in 2002 and both artists bring their own distinguishing styles, talents, and individual passions to the table when working on a piece and the end results is always moving. Most recently these two visual artists have combined their energy and talents to create The Fodice Foundation, a non-profit organization aimed at transforming a W.P.A. era school building into a world famous arts mecca that will be located 2 ½ hours Northeast of Houston. This event will feature collaboraive art made by some lucky local artist and some very special Animal Artists at the Houston Zoo. We hope you will join us for this special event as these works and many more are auctioned off to raise money for the Kinabatangan Orangutan Conservation Project and Elephant Conservation Program .
