Our History:

Created in 1995, the National Communication Association Student Clubs are an aggregate of student communication clubs chartered on various college and university campuses which elect to affiliate with NCA and have made a commitment to enriching the lives of undergraduate student communication majors and non-majors.

Mission Statement

The goal of NCASC is to promote the study, teaching, and application of the principles of communication through educational and social functions that are relevant to the membership of the club.

NCASC is a scholarly society and as such works to enhance the research, teaching, and service produced by its members on topics of both intellectual and social significance.

Any Truman student who is enrolled in either a Communication major or minor and is in good standing with the university is eligible for membership in NCASC.

There is no GPA requirement to be a member of NCASC.

Members of NCASC must be full-time students at Truman State University.

Members of NCASC may miss no more than two club meetings a semester for an unexcused absence, and must attend at least one professional and one social event per semester (non-meeting) and serve on one chapter committee.

[NCASC Committees]

The purpose of both the Professional Committee and the Social Committee is to help uphold NCASC's mission statement of promoting the study, teaching, and application of the principles of communication through professional and social functions that are relevant to the membership of the club.

The responsibilities of the 2 committees include the planning of professional development events and social events respectively and reporting about the doings of their committee at each chapter meeting.

Every member of NCASC must serve on a committee and it is each member's choice as to which committee they would like to serve on, so long as each committee is adequately staffed.
