In 2004 artist and animator, Andres Isaac Alvarez, fresh off the film Piglet's Big Movie, was approached to develop a single drawing class in his home town of the South Bay. The class was only supposed to be a one-time work shop however it proved to be extremely popular. Never before was there such a program that gave students the actual skills needed in a professional animation environment and the ADC was born. As time went on the classes quickly multiplied and started to spread all through the South Bay in Torrance, Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, and San Pedro. Students in the program soon realized they could take the skills they were learning in both traditional and digital design and build professional careers, or build portfolios for entry into the animation college of their choice.Late 2008 brought more opportunities not just in education. Andres continued his professional career in animation while teaching and started wondering why he was not sharing this projects with his vastly talented students. ADC Films would soon follow, this concept joined a school for animation and studio together so students could learn skills and also build actual professional resumes on real projects. Clients for ADC Films have included the following: Activision, Disney, Animax Animation, Namco and many others.
