There are lot of activities which, from the house , are offered in the territory of Garfagnana. It is possible to practice sport both in the open air and in the different sports centres which are in the area.
The Garfagnana territory, for its natural conformation, offers the possibility of taking walks or hard trekking excursions, tanks to the well- marked path network (CAI / GEA just in the village ).
It will be possible to ride a Mountain Bike on different routes, along suggestive itineraries of history and tradition, in search of the wild and natural beauties of Garfagnana.
For lovers of Sportive Trout Fishing, in streams or in natural lakes, there are proper equipped facilities not far from our cottage such as the river Serchio, Lake of Gramolazzo, Lake Vagli.
Another activity which is practiced at an excellent level is the harvesting of mushrooms and products of the brushwood (in order to do this, an authorization released by the Municipality is necessary), in the period between the end of summer and the beginning of autumn.
In winter it is possible to reach in short the ski facilities of Passo delle Radici or of Abetone.
Lovers of relaxation and silence will just have to swim in Gallicano pool or relax lying on the solarium or, also, sip a fresh drink on the sunny terrace, maybe waiting that on the barbecue delicious meat is being grilled

Only at 5 minutes driving there is Gallicano where is possible to find a large supermarket and a sporting center with swimming pool, tennis field , and skating place.
Only at 10 minutes driving there is Barga, a medieval city famous for musical events (Barga Jazz), the craft market "Mercatino artigianato" every second week of the month , the architecture of its palaces and the small roads that go through the main ancient part of the suburb..
Cardoso is only at 20 minutes driving from Castelnuovo, the main village of Garfagnana. Perfect for shopping on the traditional Thursday morning market, through the small roads from the main ancient part to the suburbs where people will find many bar, pubs and good restaurants.
The house was an old"Metato" built (typical place to dry chestnut frequently used in Garfagnana), disposed on two levels.
On the main floor, there are two marvellous lounges with a stone chimney and a stove, the useful and complete kitchen and a spacious bathroom with shower. First floor with three comfortable bedrooms and another large bathroom.
In 2001 the house was completely rebuilt with wood beams and terracotta floor with rustic surface, maintaining the typical country style of Garfagnana.
