Tegan Bristow
Digital Art / Research / Projects
Interactive Digital Media Artist and full time lecturerat Wits University. This site details projects and collaborations I have led or been involved in over the last few years.
Being based in Johannesburg, South Africa, most projects are aimed at educating and developing an understanding of the creative use of technology and interactive digital media practice.
As an artist I currently follow two main trajectories. The first deals with the juxtaposition of an understanding of nature and an understanding of the digital, this deals subtlety with politics. The second is the digital itself; the plays between digital analysis and how people perceive and choose to understand this negation.

Hotel Yeoville / Feb 2010
Hotel Yeoville is a long-term social project that addresses the immigrant and refugee community living in the Yeoville area of Johannesburg.
The community are predominantly from the African continent and are therefore often the subject of xenophobic attack and derogatory treatment.
This project acts both as service to this community as well as an opportunity for self-documentation.
