ABOUTFounded in 2010, Young Professionals Tri-Cities (YPTri) is dedicated to improving the quality of life for young professionals in the greater Tri-Cities region of Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia by offering social, professional and philanthropic opportunities. It is an organization for 20- to 40-somethings in the Tri-Cities who are interested in networking socially and professionally in a relaxed setting. Because YPs come from all professions, YPTri is open to all young, motivated, hard-working people who have a common interest in the organization's goals. YPTri socials are held on the Third Thursday of every month, from 6-9 pm, at area restaurants and businesses. Socials are informal, as YPTri has a check your tie at the door policy. MISSION & GOALSTo connect YPs in Johnson City, Kingsport, Bristol and the surrounding areas both socially and professionally.To improve the quality of life for regional YPs through unique social, professional and philanthropic opportunities To strengthen the local economy and workforce by encouraging YPs to remain in the Tri-Cities region, offering them exclusive social opportunities, and connecting them with other professionals and potential employers in the areaTo unify the Greater Tri-Cities area by empowering its progressive, innovative thinkers who will invest in the area, strengthen the local economy, and care for the community

Samara Litvack
Samara is a co-founder of YPTri and serves on the board as Communications Director. She is tasked with distributing information via traditional and social media outlets, this website, newsletters, evites, and all communications involving events and activities. Samara also serves as the Executive Director of YPTri. In this capacity, she oversees board meetings, facilitates community and civic relations, and is heavily involved with the overall planning of the organization.Samara holds a Bachelor of Science degree from ETSU in Mass Communications and Journalism. After working for several years in the print media industry in Chattanooga, Tennessee, she returned to Johnson City to earn her Masters Degree in Professional Communication from ETSU.Samara is the Promotions Manager at Positive Approach Events & Consulting in Johnson City. She handles public relations campaigns for various companies and nonprofits in the region, specializing in media relations, community relations, and consumer relations. She also works as a graduate assistant in ETSU’s Alumni Office, where she works with staff members in media relations and magazine production.Contact Samara to share news you wish to distribute through YPTri’s social media channels. Cory Lewis
Cory is a co-founder of YPTri and serves on the board in the Concept capacity. He is tasked with helping develop and execute the business plan, build partnerships with investors, and develop/maintain relationships with sponsors. He is the founding President of T. C. Lewis & Co. and serves as Principal Broker of the Tri-Cities office location in Johnson City, Tennessee.Cory is also founding chairman of the Northeast Tennessee Green Building Council, member of the JC Vision Project, and serves on numerous boards and committees (both professonally and community-related) in the East Tennessee and Western North Carolina regions.Prior to founding T. C. Lewis & Co., Cory had an eclectic background of work, including serving as AD for the Toronto Blue Jays Spring Training and Florida Operations. He also served as Real Estate Director for Lewis Oil Company, Inc.Cory holds a BBA, an MBA, and real estate broker licensing in multiple states. He has received a number of awards including Builder of the Year, Business Journal Magazine's Top 40 Under Forty, Distinguished Alumni, Community Supporter of the Year, multiple Builder/Architect Magazine cover-stories, Mountain South Magazine Sexy Successful Single, etc.The philosophy that drives him summed up with a quote:'A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, and die gallantly - specilization is for insects.' Haize Lewis
Haize is a co-founder of YPTri and serves on the board as the head of monthly socials and regional activities - planning location, food, beverage, sponsors, speakers, etc. Contact Haize if you are interested in hosting or sponsoring a social or regional activity. She is the Vice President of T. C. Lewis & Co. where she serves as an Affiliate Broker and head of the Property Management Division.Haize holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications. With a background in public relations, marketing, and banking, Haize worked in Charlotte, North Carolina's competitive banking industry after obtaining her degree.She gave in to the call of the mountains and moved to Northeast Tennessee where she opened a successful bar and restaurant (HALO) in downtown Johnson City. She sold the place after building the business over five years and used the capital to become a co-founder in T. C. Lewis & Co. Properties.She often heads up fundraising efforts for area non-profits and serves on various committees throughout the areas of operation of the company. During her tenure, Haize has founded and developed the Property Management Division for T. C. Lewis & Co, been integral in the development and construciton of certified green communities, key to expanding the efforts of the Real Estate and Construction/Remodeling Divisions, while also earning certification as an EcoBroker, graduating the NETAR Leadership Program, graduating the Pal's Institute for Corporate Business Management, having been named one of the Top 40 Under Forty by the Business Journal, and voted the Tri-Cities Favorite Realtor by the Johnson City Press.Find out more about T. Mitch Miller
Mitch serves on the board as the head of the Civic aspects of YPTri. He provides representation and communication of YPTri happenings to professional, for-profit, and governmental groups, as well as establishing and maintaining relationships with those groups.Mitch is the Business Development Director with the Washington County Economic Development Council. Teams need to be created and registered through this website on or before the day of the July Social (July 21).All items need to be collected and turned in by the August Social (August 18).There will be a couple of drop-off points announced for items collected throughout the period of the contest to team captains. Any items can always be dropped off at the T. C. Lewis & Co. office on Kingsport Highway, M-F, 9-5:30.Teams can use virtually any resource to help collect items and donations: Businesses, co-workers, yard sales, family members, etc.Items MUST fit into a category as outlined on the points section of this site and meet the criteria as outlined by Barnyard Blessings to count.

We exist to reduce the financial burden on families who place foster and adoptive children into their home. We receive gently used donations of items from infants through teens and provide them to foster and adoptive families who receive new placements free of charge. Additionally, every newly placed child who visits our store will receive a “My Bag” duffle filled with new items such as socks, underwear, pajamas, toiletries, etc. that they can take with them where ever they may go. The average age of a child in foster care is 8yrs. The average time a child spends in foster care before being adopted is 5 years. There are over 130,000 children in foster care in the United States.

Pie Wars is exclusively hosted by the Young Professionals of the Tri-Cities.All proceeds from the event go to the Children's Advocacy Center of the First Judicial District, and YPTri does not retain a percentage of the proceeds.Please print your ticket and bring it to ensure entry.Event is for attendees ages 21 & up.IDs will be checked at the door to verify age and to ensure that attendee's name is on the list of pre-paid tickets.Alcohol is to be consumed responsibility and designated drivers should be arranged by attendees if necessary. Irresponsible and rude behavior will not be tolerated by security, and you will be asked to leave.Voting is one ballot per round per person and pizzas are anonymously presented until the conclusion of all tasting and voting.Pizza restaurant participants should cut each pizza into roughly 2" x 2" squares prior to delivery to the event for sampling.VIP areas are designated for those who qualify only, and others should not enter those designated areas.This is a non-smoking event, but smoking areas are provided on the exterior of the building.
