ABOUT
My name is Damian and I am the lead singer and guitarist for Arketta.
Tools of the trade... I sing and play guitar (electric, acoustic, classical), piano, love percussion, a bit of harmonica and didgeridoo. I also use ProTools.
I started out composing predominately instrumental pieces. After moving to the UK, I began writting more lyrics and discovered a love for song craft. Playing the pub circuit was good for testing my material; the response was great and I found people were asking for cds. I recorded a solo album (2002) and have never looked back. Forming a band was always in my thoughts so I started to seek out musicians. It took some time but I finally found a winning combination and after some member adjustments Arketta (previously Ockhams Raiser) hit the scene as a trio - Guy Davies on drums and Dom Hill on bass. The line-up lasted 2 years and unfortunately Dom couldn't continue with us. We now have a new bassist named Steffan Thomas and are gaining momentum. It is fantastic to share what you love and and an honour to find people enjoying it! We have lots going on with the band and you can check out Arketta here - www.arketta.com
