Gleezed
Where it's like fashion week, but with music.
What's Gleezed all about?
Gleezed is an organization steered towards helping the community by our means of liberation in music and dance by means of outdoor performances, indoor ones, and even through helping other organizations.
How did Gleezed get started?
Gleezed got formed in 2009 and has now taken the world by storm. We met over myspace, online forums, Facebook and even through personal connections. Ever since then, more members have come to join us in our quest to satisfy and be that little extra something that everyone would yearn for. With this said, our rates are reasonably affordable. At first, we started performing on small stages, then to big stages, as a form of entertainment until about mid-year we realized that we could do much more. So we decided to design and sell our own Gleezed merchandise. And ever since then, we drove our efforts towards services towards the community.
What services does Gleezed actually carry out?
Our services range from community services, like helping out and picking up rubbish on beaches, performances, either for birthday parties, gigs, or even functions, to fundraising car washes, concerts and even manning donation hotlines. Besides that, we're also a non-profitable organization because I assure you that all proceeds would be banked off to support charities or other pertinent organizations like NKF, Children's Aids Society, SPCA, St' Joseph Boys' Home and many others alike.
Recent efforts?
Our recent efforts include fundraising concerts to raise funds for the unfortunate victims of the Haiti earthquake. Also, we're manning donation hotlines so that people out there who care too can donate generously so that we can together make the world a better place.
History
We've performed during the 2010 Countdown Show last year, had many consecutive ones in open-space tents and the Esplanade. Also at many Old Folk's Homes and Hospices in Singapore, along with helping out at the SPCA, cleaning beaches and performing on National Day 09.

1. Case Study
So my inspiration was from the hit television series, Glee. But fret not, it is not only a television show but there really are such things as Glee clubs, and they are especially popular in high schools in America, as well as in SP herself, at least after I'm done with her.
So it's basically a singing and dancing group which performs in a choreography. But what's different in what I'm doing in this case, is that Gleeked is an organization that performs, yes no doubt, but also, we perform for charity, and most importantly, for service like what I've explained in 'Our Story' above.

The 'design' in the L sign you see beside this text box symbolises 'lame' or 'loser' which in turn reflects what the show actually is all about. High school. In stereotyped high schools, there is always this caste system, where students are leveled based on 'cool' or how qualified in sports they were, and in this case for sports for example, such students would be labelled as jocks. So with this, the Glee club, commonly labelled as 'lame' by others, and in this case, to the Glee kids, the jocks and even the popular kids are the so-called 'losers' because they always seem to look down on the Glee kids.

3. Why services and not sell objects?
First of all, services in the dictionary means an act or helpful activity, so majority of the services that we do are to help the community. And I decided a year ago that I'd be establishing this company of mine because in my opinion, majority of the shops in maybe the whole of Singapore are retail outlets so I decided to be the gold teeth in a row of decay and did services. Plus I really feel that it's more meaningful.
Once you open the front doors of our headquarters, the first thing you'd see is this front desk at the end of the room. Also, you'd be awaited by friendly receptionists willing to make your visit as enjoyable as possible.
