Greek Gods
Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hestia, Hera, Ares, Athena, Apollo, Aphrodite, Hermes, Artemis, and Hephaestus are the twelve Olympian gods. They all live on Mount Olympis except for Hades he lives in the Underworld. Most of them are brothers and sisters. Zeus is the main king of all of the Olympians. Most of them have a Roman name along with there god name.
Zeus
Zeus's symbols or attributes is the thunderbolt. His strengths are he his mighty powerful, strong, charming, and persuasive. His weaknesses he gets in a lot of trouble over love affairs, and he can be moody. He has alot of children Hercules is the most famous child. Zeus is father of god and men. He is god of the sky, he controls lighting which he uses as a weapon, and thunder. He is king on Mount olympis. He is married to his sister Hera. His Roman name is Jupiter. One of the twelve Olympians.
Posiedon
His symbol the three-pronged trident. He is associated with horses. He is also believed to be the force behind earthquakes. He had many wives and children but his real wife is Amphrodite.He is in control of the sea. His parents were Cronus and Rhea. He is one of the twelve Olympian Gods . He also lived in Mount Olympus with all the other gods except for Hades who lived in the underworld. There are a lot more Gods that live in the Sea, but Posiedon rules over all of them.
Aphrodite
Aphrodite married Hephaestus, the black smith. She is the goddess of fertility, love, and beauty. She supposedly rose from the foam of the sea. Roman name Venus. Some of her symbols include dove, apple, mirror and scallops shell.She was born an adult. On Mount Olympus, her beauty became a curse for her.
Demeter
Demeter is the goddess of Agriculture, Harvest, grain and bread. She is not one of the twelve Olympians. Demeter is sister with Zeus, Posiedon Hades and Hera.Her struggle to save her daughter Persephone from the underworld led to the creation of the seasons. She gave birth to Persephone who is Greek Goddess of Innocence and Queen of the Underworld.
