Site Won't Save - Error Message

    Ticket by nothingbutvintage | February 28, 2014 | Question
    • Hello.

I have just spent quite some time adding images to my new gallery tab at my site Nothing But Vintage. I've now gone through & added Titles to over 200 photos but when I try to save  my site, I keep getting the following error message:

      "Could you try that again?

A problem in your site structure prevented us from saving your site. The good news is that it's already been fixed automatically!

Please click the save button and review your site’s header and footer for any possible unexpected changes."

Help please! I don't want to loose all of the work I've just put into loading the pics & adding titles etc.

      Cheers

      Mel

      Hello Mel,

I was able to properly save in your editor on my end.

Unfortunately, it seems that your issue is a local one.

Please follow the instructions provided here.

If the steps in the link didn't resolve your issues, please answer the questions in the same link.

      Hi :)

      Thanks for your prompt reply!

Any chance you've still got the window open for NBV? I've just tried to save again & it said that it's open in 2 windows & I would lose the work if I selected save.

I then clicked don't save, thinking it would just go back to where it was but I was wrong. I've lost all the data & images I've just been uploading for my new gallery tab. If you have it still open there, are you able to hit save for me please?! I'm not sure if that'll work, but it's worth me asking.

      Cheers

      Mel

      Hello Mel,

The Editor screen is no longer open, and even if it was - the Save button saves only the local changes, and cannot save the changes you made in a different Editor window.

Let us know if the problem persists or if you need any additional help - we'll be happy to further assist!

      Hi team,

      It's happened again!

I've just spent the last hour uploading & editing descriptions etc to my site & after saving a couple of times, the wix site will no longer save. It's doing exactly the same thing as it was last time. As you can imagine, this is very frustrating after loosing all my data & time spent last time to then redo it & have it lost again. Can you please look into this as I am paying for my site to function so I would like to do so.

      Thanks in advance.

      Mel

      Hi Mel,

I apologize for the inconvenience this is causing you.

Again, I was not able to recreate the problem on our end.

Please not that wix is compatible with Internet Explorer (version 9 and above), Firefox, Chrome and Safari.

With the new HTML editor we give you option to use the advanced HTML5 technology which entails new capabilities and solutions for your site as well as comprehensive support for mobile devices. However, HTML5 is still a relatively new technology and it not yet fully supported by all browsers. These browsers will catch up with this technology, but to make sure things run smoothly, please make sure to update all your browsers to the most recent versions. You can easily check how well does your current browser support HTML5  here.

      Notes
      1. Microsoft does not support IE9 on Windows XP. If you're using Windows XP, we suggest you use another browser. We hope Microsoft will provide a solution for supporting HTML5 in the Windows XP Operating System soon.

You can see Microsoft's answer from their support here as well as a more in-depth explanation from their support forums here.

      2. If your viewers use IE8 please find instructions here.

Let us know how it went and if you require further assistance!

      Many thanks, Barrios
