• Overview

    The Pages section lists all of your site pages and allows you to navigate between your pages. From Pages you can reorder your pages as well as name, hide, duplicate, delete and set the SEO settings of your site pages.

  • Navigating Between Pages

    You can navigate between your pages in the Editor by clicking on the page icon on the left side of the Editor. From Pages, click on a page title in the list to navigate to it.

    You can also navigate easily by choosing a page from the drop down menu next to Page: at the top left of your Editor.

  • Adding Pages

    Add more pages to your site from Pages.

    To add pages:

    1. From the left side of the Editor, click the page icon to open Pages.
    2. From the bottom right of Pages, click Add Page.

    3. From the left side of Add Page, click a Page Layout.

    You can preview the different page layouts on the right side of Add Page.

    4. From the bottom of Add Page, in the field under Name your page, type a title for your page.
    5. Click OK.

  • Creating Subpages

    You can create subpages for your site and turn your menu into a drop down menu. Any page can be turned into a subpage from the Pages section of your Editor.

    To create a subpage:

    1. From the left side of the Editor, click the Pages icon.
    2. From Pages, roll your mouse over the left side of a page in the list.
    3. Drag the page to the right.

    You will only be able to see your subpages and the drop down menu functionality in Preview Mode. To go to Preview Mode, click Preview from the top menu of your Editor.
    If your menu does not turn into a drop down menu, you may have to delete your old menu and add a new menu to your site.

  • Password Protecting Your Page and Creating Members-Only Pages

    You can password-protect your pages and require that your visitors enter a specific password before accessing a page. You can also make it a requirement for your visitors to become members of your site before they can enter specific pages.

  • Reordering Pages

    Change the order of your pages quickly and easily from Pages.

    To reorder your pages:

    1. From the left side of the Editor, click the page icon to open Pages.
    2. Roll your mouse over the left side of a page in the list.

    3. Drag the page to a different location.

    The order of your pages changes.

  • Changing Your Page Transitions

    You can choose a page transition for your pages. The page transition determines how your pages will shift and what your visitors will see when they navigate from page to page.

    To change your page transitions:

    1. From the left side of the Editor, click the page icon to open Pages.
    2. Under Page Transitions, click the drop-down menu and select a transition.

    None Pages will transition with no special effect
    Swipe Horizontal Pages will glide along the horizontal axis
    Swipe Vertical Pages will glide along the vertical axis
    Cross Fade Pages will fade into view
    Out-In The current page will disappear before a new page appears in its place

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

  • Customizing Your Page Settings

    In Settings and SEO, you can customize the settings of your individual pages. You can rename your page, hide it from your menu, update the page’s title, description, keywords and URL, duplicate a page and delete a page that you no longer need.

    Naming Your Page

    In the Settings and SEO section, you can change the name of your page. The names of your pages will appear in your site menu.

    To name your page:

    1. From the left side of the Editor, click the page icon to open Pages.
    2. Next to your page, click the settings icon.
    3. In Settings and SEO, under Page Name, type a name for your page.

    4. Click Done.

    Your page name changes.

    Hiding Your Page

    You can hide your pages from the navigation menu by going to the Settings and SEO section of your Editor. Your site visitors will be unable to access hidden pages.

    To hide your page:

    1. From the left side of the Editor, click the page icon to open Pages.
    2. Next to your page, click the settings icon.
    3. In Settings and SEO, checkmark the box next to Hide from menu.

    4. Click Done.

    Your page is hidden from your menu.

    The pages are hidden from the site but they will still appear in search engines. To hide them from search results simply check the "Hide page from search results" box. You can also use the password-protect feature. Click here for more information.

    Customize Your Page's SEO Settings

    You can customize the SEO settings of your individual site pages by going into the Settings and SEO section of Pages. SEO stands for “search engine optimization”. Search Engine Optimization is the process of improving the visibility of your website in search results. In other words, SEO is the technique of making the content of your website more legible and attractive to search engines, so that they can both find and rank your site higher than the millions of other sites in response to a search query.

    Good SEO results in a high page rank in search results for your name, business, or keywords connected to services you offer. However, keywords are a competitive market and SEO requires a long-term outlook and commitment.

    Top companies spend thousands of dollars to ensure their keywords come up top. Wix guarantees that all of the text and meta tags on your site are being scanned by search engines, however we cannot guarantee that Google will choose to rank your website highly, this part is up to you.

    To customize your Page’s SEO Settings:

    1. From the left side of the Editor, click the page icon to open Pages.
    2. Next to your page, click the settings icon.
    3. In Settings and SEO, under SEO Page Settings, type in your Page Title, Page Description and Keywords.

    4. Click Done.

    Your page’s SEO settings are updated.

    Duplicating a Page

    When working on a new page, you may find it useful to start from the design of a page that you have already completed. In the Settings and SEO section, you will have the option to duplicate your pages.

    To duplicate a page:

    1. From the left side of the Editor, click the page icon to open Pages.
    2. Next to your page, click the settings icon.
    3. From the top of Settings and SEO, click Duplicate.


    4. Under Page title, type a title for your duplicate page.


    5. Click OK.

    Deleting a Page

    You can delete a page that you no longer need from the Settings and SEO section of Pages.

    You cannot delete the Home page of your site.

    To delete a page:

    1. From the left side of the Editor, click the page icon to open Pages.
    2. Next to your page, click the settings icon.
    3. From the top of Settings and SEO, click Delete.


    4. In the confirmation window, click Delete.
