    Sometimes bugs happen and we appreciate your understanding and patience with us! Below are some errors that you may encounter and suggestions for solving them.

    If you're experiencing issues with your Wix editor, you may want to try the following steps first:
    1. Open your browser to a blank page. Close any Wix pages that are open.
    2. Clear your browser's cache and cookies of "Everything". You can find step-by-step instructions here.
    3. Restart your browser and then log into your Wix account and try again. If this doesn't work, then continue on to Step 6.
    4. Try using other browsers to open Wix. Recommended browsers include Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and either IE or Safari (depending on whether you use a PC or a MAC).
    5. If you connect to the internet through a router, please try connecting directly through the modem. Then follow Steps 2-5 again.
    6. Try disabling your internet security programs and try again (i.e. antivirus, firewall, etc.). It is preferable to try this while still connected to the modem directly. This is meant to assist us in determining the source of the problem that you're facing.
    7. Try connecting to Wix from a different computer that uses a different network to connect to the internet.

    Finally, if you are still having issues, please contact us. Let us know exactly which steps you tried and what worked or didn't work. Please also include the following information:
    1. What Operating System you're using (i.e. Mac OSX, Windows XP, etc.)
    2. What browsers you've tried - and include the version of the browser (can generally be found by going to Help > About within the browser).
    3.Your Wix username and the document name of the site(s) with the issue.
    4. Attach a screenshot of the problem, if possible. For instructions on how to take a screenshot, click here.
    5. Your geographic location and which ISP you use.
    6. Which internet security programs you have installed on your computer (antivirus, firewall, etc.).

  • I click on “Edit” but nothing happens. What shall I do? OR I can't open the Wix editor or Wix templates.

    This error is likely due to your pop up blocker. Find a handy step by step guide to "allow pop ups" from Wix.com here.

  • I am experiencing upload issues

    In most cases, upload issues are related to a local misconfiguration of certain settings on your computer, or to your internet connection.

    Please follow these steps in order to troubleshoot the issue you're experiencing:

    1. Try uploading other images. Is this issue isolated to specific images? If so, please email us the problematic images.
    2. Clear your browser's cache of "Everything". 
    3. Log out of your Wix account, restart your browser and then log into your Wix account and try again.
    4. Try using other browsers to open Wix. Recommended browsers include Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and either IE or Safari (depending on whether you use a PC or a MAC).
    5. If you connect to the internet through a router, please try connecting directly through the modem.
    6. Try temporarily disabling your internet security programs and try again (i.e. antivirus, firewall, etc.). It is preferable to try this while still connected to the modem directly. This is meant to assist us in determining the source of the problem that you're facing.
    7. Try connecting to Wix from a different computer that uses a different internet connection.

    Finally, if you are still having issues, please contact us. Let us know exactly which steps you tried and what worked or didn't work. Please also include the following information:

    1. What Operating System you're using (i.e. Mac OSX, Windows XP, etc.) - and what version it is.

    3. What version of Flash you have installed on your computer- you can find this at whatismyflash.com
    4. Your Wix username and the name of the site(s) with the issue.
    5. If you receive an error message, please attach the error message that you receive.

    7. Which internet security programs you have installed on your computer (antivirus, firewall, etc.).

  • What is error 404?

    There can be 3 reasons why you are getting this error:

    1. Please make sure you have published your site (not only saved it).
    2. Please check that you have inserted your domain correctly.
    3. If you have purchased your own domain- Please check that it is connected correctly to Wix.

  • HTTP Status 413

    If you receive this error, please clear your cache and close/reopen the browser again.
    This should fix the problem.

  • What is error 500?

    Error 500 is an internal server error.
    Please wait a few minutes and try again. If you are still getting this error, please contact us here.

  • What is error 1008

    Error 1008 means that the Google checkout ID you entered is incorrect.  
    You will have to enable your Google Checkout Merchant account to work with Wix. To do so, click here to sign into your Google Checkout account and uncheck "My company will only post digitally signed carts".

  • What is error 7708?

    Error -7708 means that you reached the limit of images you can upload to your Wix account. You will need to delete some of your current images to upload new ones.

    Note that images that were used within your sites (in galleries etc.) will remain there and will only be removed from the "My Images" folder.
