    Add images to your site from your computer or from the Wix library. Customize your images by opening the Image Settings window.

  • Adding an Image

    Add an image to your site from the Image Settings window.

    To add an image:

    1. From the left side of the Editor, click the plus sign to open Add.
    2. From Add, click Image.
    3. From Add Images, click an image or multiple images and then click Add Images.

    Your image appears on your site.

  • Uploading an Image

    Upload a new image to your site from Image Settings.

    To upload an image:

    1. From the left side of the Editor, click the plus sign to open Add.
    2. From Add, click Image.
    3. From Image Settings, click Change Image.
    4. From the Add Images, click Upload Images.

    5. Browse your folders and select your image. Click Open to upload your image.

    To select more than one image, hold down the CTRL key and click several images.

    6. From Add Images, click your images and then click Add Images.

    7. Click outside of the image to close Image Settings.

    You can upload .jpg, .png, and .gif files up to 10MB each. Click here for tips on how to improve the quality of your uploaded images.

  • Organizing Your Images

    You can organize your images easily from My Images in the Images gallery.

    Quick guide to organizing your images from the image gallery:

    • Add Folder to add a new folder for your images.
    • Click or roll over an image and then click the trash can icon to delete the image.
    • Roll over an image to expand, download or edit it.
    • Drag and drop images into your folders to organize them.
    • Press CTRL and click images to select several. Drag the group of images into folders to organize them or click the trash can icon to delete them.
    • Checkmark the Select All icon to select all of your images. Uncheck the icon to deselect your images.
    • Sort your images by Date or by alphabetical order.
    • Search for an image.
    • Roll over a folder to Rename or Remove the folder.
  • Editing an Image

    To edit an image:

    1. Click the image to select it and from the pop-up, click Settings.
    2. From Image Settings, click Edit Image.

    3. From the top of Edit Image, click an option.

    4. Customize the image and click Apply.

    5. Click Save.

    Your image is edited.

     

    Edit Image Options

      Description Action
    Crop Crop your image. Select Custom or Fit or drag and drop the cropping handles to set the crop of your image.
    Orientation Rotate or flip the orientation of your image Click the rotate or flip icons or drag and drop the rotate handle to rotate or flip your image. 
    Enhance Change the lighting of your images. Click a lighting effect from the top of Edit Image.
    Effects Add a color effect to your image.

    Click a color effect from the top of Edit Image.

    Frames Add a frame to your image. Click a frame option from the top of Edit Image.
    Brightness Change the brightness of your image. Adjust the brightness from the top of Edit Image.
    Contrast Change the contrast of your image. Adjust the contrast from the top of Edit Image.
    Saturation Change the color saturation of your image. Adjust the saturation from the top of Edit Image.
    Warmth Add warm or cool tones to your image. Adjust the warmth from the top of Edit Image.
    Focus Add focus to your image. Choose a shape from the top of Edit Image and click and drag to resize it.
    Sharpness Change the clarity of your image. Adjust the sharpness from the top of Edit Image.
    Draw Draw on top of your image. Click a drawing tool and color from the top of Edit Image and use the mouse to draw on your image.
    Redeye Remove red eyes from your image. Choose a tool size from the top of Edit Image and click the red eyes in your image to remove the red.
    Whiten Add more white to areas of your image. Choose a tool size from the top of Edit Image and click an area of your image to add more white.
    Blemish Fix blemishes on your image. Choose a tool size from the top of Edit Image and click an area of your image to blend blemishes into your image.
    Stickers Add stickers to your image. Choose a sticker from the top of Edit Image to add it to your image. Drag and drop the sticker, rotate and resize it.
    Text Add text to your images. Add a text box to your image and choose a color and font from the top of Edit Image. Drag and drop the text box, edit the text, rotate and resize it. Click Add Text from the top of Edit Image to add another text box.

     

  • Customizing an Image

    Customize your images by clicking on them and updating your settings from the Image Settings window.

    To customize an image:

    1. Click an image. From the pop-up menu, click Settings.
    2. From Image Settings, under Image Scaling, click the dropdown menu to select Crop, Center, Stretch, or Fit.

    3. Click Edit Image to access the Photo Editor and edit your image.
    4. Under Title, add the title of your image in the field.
    5. Under Alt Text (Optional), add the alt text for your image in the field. 

    This is what search engines will see when they scan your image.

    6. Under When image is clicked, click the dropdown menu to select Do Nothing, Open Link, Open Expand Mode, or Zoom In.
    7. Under Link to, click the field to add a link.
    8. Click Change Style to change your image's skin.  
    9. Click outside of the image to close Image Settings.

  • Rotating an Image

    You can rotate images on your site.

    To rotate an image:

    1. Click the image to select it.
    2. From the top right of the image, click and hold the rotate icon and drag it into place.

    Click the red X to reset the angle.

    You can also change the angle from the image's Settings panel.

    Your image is rotated.

  • Deleting an Image

    To delete an image:

    1. Click the image to select it.
    2. Press Delete on your keyboard.

    Your image is deleted.

  • Image Options

    Once you have added an image to your site, customize it from the Image Settings window:

    Image Scaling – change your Image Scaling to one of the following options:

    Crop crop your image while maintaining its aspect ratio.
    Center center your image within the frame while maintaining its aspect ratio.
    Stretch stretch your image to the size of the image frame.
    Fit fit your original image to the size of the image frame.

    Style – add, remove or create your own frames for your images.
    Alt text – add alternative text to your images.
    Link – link your image to an external website, a page of your site, an email address or a document.

  • Uploading Images from an Android Device

    You can upload images to your Wix Image Gallery from Android devices.

    To upload an image to Wix from an Android device:

    1. Click here from your Android device and install the Wix Pics app.
    2. Open the application and login to your Wix account.

    3. From the bottom left of the main screen, select a folder to upload your image to.

    You can add a new folder to your Wix Pics app by pressing Add Folder.

    If you don’t select a folder, your images will be added to an automatically created Mobile Uploads folder.

    4. Press the camera icon to take a new picture or press Upload an Image to select an image from your mobile gallery.

    5. From the Image Processor screen, Rotate your image or set the Saturation, Hue, Brightness and Contrast.

    6. When your image is ready, press Upload.

    Your image is uploaded to your Wix Image Gallery.

    Press an image to manage it: you can move an image to a different Wix Pics folder or delete it.
    To select many images at once press the images. You can then press Set Folder to move them to another folder or press Delete to mass delete the images.

    How do I upload images to my online store/product gallery?

    You can upload product images to your store from your Store Manager (click your gallery and then click Manage Store). From your Store Manager, under My Products, click a product to edit it. Under Media, click Add Photo and add or upload images for your product.

    How do I set my own image as a background?

    To upload your own image as a background:

    1. From the left side of the Editor, click the paintbrush icon to open Design.
    2. From Design, click Background.
    3. From Background, click Upload & Customize Background.
    4. Under Customize Background, click Add Image.
    5. From the top right of the Backgrounds Gallery, click Upload Image.
    6. From the window that opens, browse your folders and select your image. Click Open to upload your image.
    7. From the Backgrounds Gallery, click your image and then click OK.

    Your background image changes.

    How do I create a slideshow?

    You can create a slideshow by adding a Slideshow gallery. From the left side of the Editor, click the plus sign to open Add. From Add, click Gallery and then click Slideshow. For more information about adding galleries, click here.

    What is the best image size/pixel size/resolution for my images?

    We recommend that you upload your image to your site at the same size that you plan for the image to be displayed. For more information about improving your image quality, click here.

    How do I expand an image?

    Currently, it isn’t possible to expand a standalone image. You can only expand images that are in galleries. For more information about adding image galleries, click here.

    How do I create and upload an image with a transparent background to Wix?

    Within Photoshop, select the parts of the image that you would like to display on your site. Copy the selection and paste it to a new page within Photoshop. From the new page, double-click the background and change the opacity to 0%.

    Once you have done this, you will see a checkered box background. Click 'Save for Web' and save your file as a .png file. 

    Your image now has a transparent background. Now upload it to your Wix editor! Make sure that you add the image as an Image without Frame.

    How can I upload more than one image at a time?

    To upload more than one image at a time, hold down the CTRL key and click several images to select them.
