Signing up for free

Wix gives you the opportunity to create your own professional websites with no programming experience! The easy-to-use interface allows you to create and publish great looking sites quickly and easily.

Once you sign up for a free Wix account, you can create and publish as many websites as you wish absolutely free!

The structure of a free Wix URL is: username.wix.com/sitename. If you would like to remove the Wix ads in the footer and tags or use your own domain, then you can upgrade your account and pay for a monthly or yearly contract. You can do that at anytime - you can start out free and get a premium account later, or you can stay with a free site. For more information about our different packages, check out our page here.

To sign up for a free account:

1. Go to Wix.com.
2. In the upper right corner, click Login/Sign Up.
3. From the Login screen, click Create New Account.

4. In the Sign Up screen, fill in the Email and Password fields.

You will use these details to sign into your account.

5. Click Go.

You now have a Wix account!

Your username will be automatically assigned to you. You can change your username at any time by going to My Account > Settings > update the User Name field.

To log into your account:

1. Go to Wix.com.
2. In the upper right corner, click Login/Sign Up.
3. In the Login screen, fill in the Email and Password fields.

4. Click Go.

You are now logged into your Wix account!

You can edit your account settings including username, email and password at any time.

Editing Your Username

To edit your username:

1. Go to Wix.com.
2. From the top menu, click My Account.
3. From My Account, click Settings.

4. Under User Name, update your username.

Your Wix username is limited to 20 characters.

5. Click Update Personal Details.

Your username changes.

Please note that you cannot change your username to one that you have previously used or that someone else is using. It must be a unique username.

Changing your username is one way to update your free Wix URL. The structure of a free Wix URL is username.wix.com/sitename so if you change your username, your URL will be updated as well!

Editing Your Login Email

To edit your login email:

1. Go to Wix.com.
2. From the top menu, click My Account.
3. From My Account, click Settings.

4. Under Email, update your email address.

5. Click Update Personal Details.

Your email address has changed.

Editing Your Login Password

To edit your login password:

1. Go to Wix.com.
2. From the top menu, click My Account.
3. From My Account, click Settings.

4. Next to Update Password, click Edit.

5. In the Update Password screen, under Old Password, type in your old password.

6. Under New Password and Re-type New Password, type in your new password.
7. Click Update Password.

Your password changes.
