There are two types of pages on your site: Master Pages and Pages. In your Editor on the right, you will see the Page Manager. The Page Manager lists and organizes all of your Master Pages and Pages. To open up one of your pages and display it in your Editor, simply click on the page from the Page Manager.
Pages are a group of multiple pages that you can place inside a Master Page: they allow you to place a lot of content on just one Master Page. The result is smoother transitions from Page to Page and a website with a more professional look. You can add Pages to each Master Page of your site to organize your content and to create a more user-friendly website.
Please note that no more than 50 Pages can be added to each Page set. In addition, the maximum size for a Page is: width 1500 px and height 1200 px.
Adding and using Master Pages is an advanced feature, however there are times when you may want to add additional Master Pages. For more information about Master Pages, click here.
You can easily add more Pages to your site! See below for a video tutorial followed by written instructions on how to do so.
To add Pages:
1. From the Page Manager to the right of your Editor, click Add Page.
To add a set of three Pages or choose from different types of Pages, simply add a Page Group! To do so, on the left of the Editor, go to Add, then go to Page Parts. Click Page Groups and choose a style from the Page Groups gallery!
2. Click a Page layout from the list that opens.
You can preview the layout on the right of the Add Page window.
3. In the Name your page field, type a name for your page.
4. Click OK.
A new Page appears on your site. Now you are ready to add content!
If your Page is too small, you may have to enlarge it or add a new Page Group to use the Page layout feature. In addition, some templates don’t support the Page layout feature. To use it anyway, simply add a new Page Group (Add > Page Parts > Page Groups) and then follow the steps above.
You can create a group of subpages within any of your Pages. There are two ways that you can add Pages within your Page: you can choose from one of our ready-made groups of subpages by clicking Add Page from your Page Manager or you can create a set of subpages from scratch by adding a Page Group from the Add bar.
Adding Ready-to-Use Subpages
To add ready-to-use subpages:
1. From the Page Manager on the right of your Editor, click Add Page.
2. Choose one of the following Page layouts from the list that opens:
- Three Columns (under Services)
- Articles (Site Content)
- any of the page layouts under Portfolio
3. In the Name your page field, type a name for your page.
4. Click OK.
A ready-made group of subpages with a menu appears on your Page. Now you are ready to add content!
Creating Subpages from Scratch
To create subpages from scratch:
1. From the toolbar on the left, roll over Add, go to Page Parts.
2. Click Page Groups.
3. From the Page Group gallery, click a Page Group. The Page Group is added to your site.
4. Place the new Page Group within your existing Page Group.
5. Resize the new Page Group by dragging at its edges.
Make sure that the new Page Group is completely within the bounds of your existing Page Group.
Your new Page Group is added to your Page.
Add a menu for your new Page Group by going to Add > Navigation > Menu. Resize the menu by dragging at its edges and place it next to your new Page Group and well inside the borders of your original Page Group.
Make sure that your new menu is connected to your new Page Group by clicking Manage from the property panel on the right.

You can manage the pages that you have added to your site with the Page Manager located to the right of your Editor. The Page Manager allows you to have better control over your Pages and Master Pages.
To manage a Page:
From the Page Manager on the right, rollover a Page and click the drop-down arrow that appears.
You have the the following options:
Add Page – add a new Page to your Wix site.
Rename – rename the selected Page.
Duplicate – duplicate the selected Page.
Hide – hide the selected Page.
Password – password-protect your Page. Only users with the password to the selected Page will be able to access it on your site.
Delete – delete the selected Page.
Move Up – reorder your Pages by moving the selected Page up.
Move Down – reorder your Pages by moving the selected Page down.
Tip: From the Page Manager, drag your Pages into place to reorder them.
You can add any content that you wish to your Pages such as: pictures, text, videos and galleries. However, too much content can affect the speed with which your website loads. To reduce the loading time, do not add too many videos and be sure to reduce the size of your photos before uploading them; save your pictures at 72dpi (Save for Web) in Photoshop.
To add content to your Pages:
1. From the toolbar on the left of your Editor, choose an element to add to your Pages.
2. Drag and drop the element onto any of your Pages. Be sure to place the element within the Page borders! When clicking on the element and dragging it around, you will see yellow arrows appear on each border of your Page. This lets you know that the element is within the borders of the Page.
At the top of your Pages, you will see a navigation bar. You can scroll through your Pages by clicking on the left or right arrows of this navigation bar. You can name each Page and the name will appear in the navigation bar. The name will replace Page 1, Page 2, etc.
To name your Pages:
1. From the Page Manager to the right of your Editor, double-click a Page.
2. In the Page field that activates, type a new name.
The names of your Pages will appear in the navigation bar.
Words that have accents cannot be added through the Page Manager. To give your Page a name with an accent, simply add a Menu for your Pages, then click on the Menu to select it and click Manage from the property panel on the right. You will be able to rename your Pages with accents from here! For more information on Menus, click here.
You can customize your Pages in several ways. To see your customization options, click on your Pages. A Page Group property panel with your available options will appear on the right of your Editor.
Adding a Menu
You can add a menu to your Pages. Your Page menu will consist of buttons – one for each Page. A menu will allow your users to navigate your Pages.
The names of your Pages will appear on the buttons of your menu. For this reason, we recommend Naming Your Pages before adding a menu.
To add a menu:
1. Click the Pages to select them.
2. On the right, from the Page Group property panel, click Add Menu.
3. From the Menus Gallery that opens, click on a menu to add it to your site.
Your menu appears below your Pages.
Tip: Click on the menu to move it or customize it!
Other Page Customization Options
The property panel that appears on the right of the Editor gives you many other options for customizing your Pages! Below you will find a list of these options. Feel free to experiment with these Page options to find the look that suits you!
Add Page – allows you to add a page. Simply click Add Page
Add Menu – adds a menu to allow your users to navigate your Pages.
Skins – change the design of the Skin of your Pages.
Color – once you select a Skin, you can change the color of your Pages.
Settings – allows you to set your Pages to Auto Play and set how much time each page will display during Auto Play.
Animations – allows you to animate your Pages.
Transitions – allows you to change the look of the transitions of your Pages when users navigate from one Page to another.
Why does my content appear on all of my Pages?
The most likely problem is that your content is not “attached” to your Page or outside of its borders!
Be sure to place your content within the Page borders! When clicking on the element and dragging it around, you will see yellow arrows appear on each border of your Page. This lets you know that the element is within the borders of the Page.
How do I create a button that will lead me to a specific Page?
1. From the toolbar to the left of your Editor, go to Add, then go to Navigation.
2. Click Buttons.
3. From the Buttons Gallery that appears, click a button.Your button appears in your Editor.
4. Click on the button.
5. On the right, from the Button property panel, click Link.
6. From the Link window, click the Page tab.
7. From the Page tab, click Select Page.
8. From the Link to Page window, choose the Page to link your button to.
How can I play continuous music on my site?
If you want music playing continuously on your site, you will have to use Pages for your design. Place the music player on the static part of the page (i.e. outside of the Pages).
Since your Pages are the only dynamic element, your music player will not be affected and will play continuously.
Please remember to set your music player to play automatically. To do this, click on your music player. On the right, from the property panel, click Settings. From the Settings window, check the box next to Auto Play.
How do I stop my Pages from Auto Playing?
If your Pages are playing automatically when a user enters your site, your Pages are set to Auto Play.
To stop your Pages from Auto Playing:
1. Open your Editor, and click your Pages to select them.
2. On the right, from the Page Group property panel, click Settings.
3. From the Settings window, uncheck the box next to Auto Play.
Note: If you don’t already have one, you will need to add a menu so that your users will be able to navigate your Pages.
Can I add the HTML Widget to my Pages?
The HTML component is not supported by transitions. If you add the HTML component to a Page, the Pages themselves will still turn, however the HTML component will pop up at the end of the Page transition without any effects. Our recommendation would be to test out the HTML component on your live site to make sure that it appears correctly. Note: Carousel, Cover Flow and Book Pages are not recommended for use with the HTML component.
How do I password-protect my Pages?
You can now create a password login for individual pages on your Wix website!
To do so:
1. Go to the Page Manager (right of the editor).
2. Roll over the Page and click on the drop-down menu arrow.
3. Click Password from the drop-down menu.
4. Type in a password and click Set.
Don’t forget to Save your document!
Currently the "Back" button will not work on a password-protected Page.
To remove a page password follow Steps 1-3 above, and then from the Set Password window, click Remove. Make sure that you Save your document!
