    Wix gives you the opportunity to create your own professional Flash websites with no programming experience! The easy-to-use interface allows you to create and publish great looking sites quickly and easily.

    Once you sign up for a free Wix account, you can create and publish as many websites as you wish absolutely free! The structure of a free Wix URL is: Wix.com/username/document name

    However, if you decide that you would like to remove the Wix ads in the footer and tags, use your own domain or make an eCommerce site, then you can upgrade your account and pay for a monthly or yearly contract.

    This page offers information about our various billing policies and seeks to address any issues and questions that you may have.

  • Upgrading Your Free Document to Premium

    You can upgrade your free site to premium at anytime in order to remove the Wix ads in the footer and tags, use your own domain and/or make an eCommerce site.

    Upgrading Your Document through Wix.com

    To upgrade your document through Wix.com:

    1. Sign into Wix.com.

    2. Click My Account.

    3. From My Account, next to your document click Upgrade .

    4. From the upgrade page that opens, choose a package and mark it, then click Buy Now.

    5. Follow the prompts to complete your purchase.

    Your document is now a Premium document.

    Upgrading Your Document through the Wix Editor

    To upgrade your document through the Wix editor:

    1. From the top menu of your Wix editor, click Upgrade.

    2. From the upgrade page that opens, choose a package and mark it, then click Buy Now.

    3. Follow the prompts to complete your purchase.

    Your document is now a Premium document.

  • Changing Your Package

    Upgrading Your Package

    You can upgrade your Premium document to a higher-priced package at anytime. You will only be charged for the difference.

    To upgrade your document to a different package:

    1. Sign into Wix.com.
    2. Click My Account.
    3. From My Account, next to your document click Upgrade.
    4. From the upgrade page that opens, choose a package and mark it, then click Buy Now.
    5. Follow the prompts to complete your purchase.

    Your document has been upgraded to a different package.

    Downgrading Your Package

    Unfortunately it is impossible to downgrade your Premium document from one package to a lower-priced package. To downgrade, please follow the instructions below to first cancel your existing package and then repurchase a new package.

    • Important! Please note that your existing package is only eligible for a full refund within the first 14 days of trial. If you would like to change your package beyond those 14 days, our suggestion is to cancel your current plan and to wait until your current contract runs out before repurchasing a new plan.

    You cannot cancel your Premium package by deleting your Premium document. To cancel, please go to Manage Premium and cancel your package from there. See below for full cancellation instructions.

    If you had connected your own domain to your Wix site, you will have to reconnect your domain in the Wix Domain Manager after canceling and repurchasing a package. Click here for more information.

    If you are having trouble repurchasing a package after cancellation, please go to Manage Premium and click Unassign to remove the cancelled package from the site and then try to repurchase a new package again.

  • Transferring Your Package to Another Document

    You can transfer your premium package from one document to another document located within the same account.

     

    To transfer your Premium document to another document:

    1. Sign into Wix.com.

    2. Click My Account.

    3. From My Account, click Manage Premium.

    4. From Manage Premium, in the Package tab, under your Premium document, click Transfer.

    5. From the Transfer window that opens, mark the radio dial below the document that you would like to transfer to and click OK.

    Your Premium package is transferred from one document to another.

    The Premium features, including your domain, will be removed immediately from the original document and transferred to the new document.
    Be sure to go into the new document’s Settings from the top menu of your Wix Editor to update your SEO settings.

  • Choosing a Billing Plan

    Currently, there are two billing plans for you to choose from:

    1. Monthly Billing: Choosing monthly billing means that you will be charged on a monthly basis, within three days of the date of your original purchase.

    2. Yearly Billing: Choosing yearly billing means that you will be charged on a yearly basis.

    You will be charged automatically for your package, on a monthly or a yearly basis, until you cancel.

    Your monthly or yearly charge may occur up to three days before or after the date of your original purchase.

     

  • Changing Your Billing Plan

    Upgrading from a Monthly to a Yearly Payment Plan

    You can upgrade your Premium document from a monthly to a yearly payment plan at anytime. You will only be charged for the difference.

    To upgrade your document from a monthly to a yearly payment plan:

    1. Sign into Wix.com.
    2. Click My Account.
    3. From My Account, next to your document click Upgrade.
    4. From the upgrade page that opens, choose a package and mark it, then click Buy Now.

    Your document has been upgraded to a yearly payment plan.

     

    Downgrading from a Yearly to a Monthly Payment Plan

  • Choosing a Payment Method

    Currently users can purchase a package using a credit card and major debit cards such as Visa and MasterCard.

    To use a promotional coupon, you will have to use a credit card to upgrade. For more information about our current promotions, click here.

    Once you purchase a package using a credit card, you will not be able to change it. To change your payment method, you will have to cancel your package and repurchase it with the new payment method.

    Your monthly or yearly charge may occur up to three days before or after the date of your original purchase.

     

    Paying with a Credit Card

    Currently, Wix accepts the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

    To pay with a credit card, simply go through the upgrade process described above and fill in your credit card details. Your card information will be recorded in our system and you will automatically be charged monthly or yearly, depending on your payment plan. Our billing system keeps the following information on file: the name on the card, the type of credit card, the expiration date of the card and the last four digits of the credit card number.

    If your credit card is declined during the automatic billing, our billing system will try to charge you again several times over a few weeks. You will receive automatic emails letting you know about the issue. The third email will be a final notice before suspension and will be your last warning before your package is cancelled automatically by our billing system.

     

    Understanding Credit Card Issues

    Credit Card Expiration

    You will get an automatically generated message from our billing system if your transaction is declined due to credit card expiration. If you receive a message from our billing system regarding your card’s expiration, please be sure to update your credit card details.

    AVS – Declined Card

    Your credit card transaction will be declined if the address and zip code that you entered when making a payment does not match the address and zip code on your credit card statement.

    Please confirm the following details with your credit card company and try again: the name on the card, the type of credit card, the expiration date of the card and the last four digits of the credit card number. All of the details that you enter into Wix must match the details that you have on file with your credit card provider.

     

    Changing Your Credit Card Details

    You can use more than one credit card for your Premium packages. You can update your credit card details at anytime.

    To change your credit card details:

    1. Sign into Wix.com.
    2. Click My Account.
    3. From My Account, click Manage Premium.
    4. Under Payment method, click Update.
    5. From the Update Billing Details window that appears, update your credit card details.

    Your credit card details have changed.

    Changing your credit card details will not change any of the information that appears on your invoice. For more information about changing the information that appears on your invoice, click here.

    When you change your credit card details, our payment processor may send an authorization charge of $1 to verify that your card is valid for online purchasing. Please note that this is an authorization only and the $1 will not actually be taken from your account. The charge should disappear from your account within a few days.

     

    Transferring Account Ownership

    If you are a designer who is changing account ownership, please make sure to remove your credit card information from the Manage Premium section of My Account. To do so, please add the new owner's credit card to the account, and then email billing@wix.com with the username and e-mail address of the account and specify the last four digits of the credit card that you would like to remove.

    Please note that Wix is not responsible for any charges incurred on your credit card as a result of a change in account ownership; you are solely responsible for making sure that your personal details do not remain in the account that you are transferring.

  • Managing Your Invoices

    Viewing Your Invoice

    You can view your invoices and all of the transactions related to your account at anytime.

    To view your invoice:

    1. Sign into Wix.com.
    2. Click My Account.
    3. From My Account, click Manage Premium.
    4. Under Last charge, click View Invoices.
    5. Choose which invoices to view by placing a checkmark in the box next to the invoice.
    6. Click OK.

    Your invoice opens in a new browser window/tab.

    Click Print to print your invoices.

     

    Viewing Your Domain Invoice

    To view your domain invoice:

    1. Sign into Wix.com.
    2. Click My Account.
    3. From My Account, click Manage Premium.
    4. Click the Domains tab and click on your domain.
    5. Click Payments and View Invoices next to Last Payment.

    Changing Information Displayed on Invoices

    Your invoices are produced automatically by our billing system. To change information displayed on your invoices, please copy the categories below and add your information as you would like it to appear on your invoices. Send the categories with your information to billing@wix.com. We will send you an invoice adjusted accordingly.

    Please note that the changes will be applied to all invoices past and present for all Premiums on this account.

    Invoice Notes

    • Our listed package prices do not include the VAT charge. However, depending on your country’s laws, you may be subject to a VAT charge when purchasing a package. If this is the case, you will see the VAT charge added to your total before checking out and this will be reflected on your invoices. If VAT is not itemized on your invoice, this means that you have not been charged VAT.
  • Cancelling Your Premium Package

    You can cancel your package at anytime, however you are only eligible for a full refund within the first 14 days after purchase. Cancelling a package after the 14 day trial period will stop the automatic payment. You will not be charged in the next payment period: Monthly plans won’t be charged from the next month. Yearly plans won’t be charged from the next year. Your package will remain active and available until the end of the term that you had paid for.

    To cancel your Premium package:

    1. Sign into Wix.com.
    2. Click My Account.
    3. From My Account, click Manage Premium.
    4. Under Status, click Cancel next to the package that you would like to cancel.
    5. Follow the steps in the pop-ups that open.

    Your Premium package is cancelled.

    You will receive a confirmation email regarding your cancellation. In addition, in Manage Premium, under Status, your document will appear as Cancelled.
    Important: Make sure to cancel any payment subscriptions that you have set up as well!

    Important Cancellation Notes:

    • If you are eligible for a refund, please be aware that it may take up to seven business days for a refund to appear on your credit card statement.
    • Deleting a document will not cancel a Premium package. You must go through the steps above to effectively cancel your package.
    • Be sure to cancel your Premium package at least three days before your renewal date! You may be charged by the system if you cancel at the last minute. If you have been charged, please email premium@wix.com and if you are entitled to a refund we will, of course, issue you with one.
    • Cancelling a package after the 14 day trial period will stop the automatic payment. You will not be charged in the next payment period: Monthly plans won’t be charged from the next month. Yearly plans won’t be charged from the next year. Your package will remain active and available until the end of the term that you had paid for.
    • Your website will not be deleted when you cancel your Premium package. We never delete or remove websites. Your site will simply go back to its free status.
    • Wix sends a notification email to users two weeks before the expiration of the yearly package. This gives users two weeks to decide whether or not to keep or cancel the package. Cancel on time to avoid being automatically charged by the system.
  • Receiving a Refund

    You will receive a full refund if you cancel your package during the 14 day trial period. The 14 day trial period indicates the 14 days after the date of your initial package purchase for a particular document.

    Please note the following:

    • If you are eligible for a refund, your credit card will be refunded automatically. Please be aware that it may take up to seven business days for a refund to appear on your credit card statement.
    • If you cancelled within 24 hours of purchase, it is likely that the transaction was cancelled before the funds settled. If this is the case, instead of receiving a refund, the charge(s) should simply drop away from your account.
    • Wix is not responsible for any bank charges, commissions or overdrafts. The only way to remove these charges is through direct negotiation with your bank/financial institution.
    • If you upgrade an existing package, the new upgrade is not considered an “initial purchase” and won’t be refunded unless you cancel your package within the 14 day trial period of the original purchase.
    • The 14 day trial period does not apply to renewal payments. The trial period is only valid for initial purchases.
    • Unfortunately Wix domain purchases are non-refundable once registered. Wix domain purchases are separate from Premium package purchases and do not have a 14-day free trial policy. Click here for more information.
  • Frequently Asked Questions

    Will my Premium package be cancelled if I just delete my document?

    Deleting a document will not cancel a Premium package. You must go through the cancellation steps above to effectively cancel your package.

     

    Can I transfer my Premium package to another document after I have cancelled the package?

    After you cancel a Premium package, it is no longer possible to transfer it to another document.

     

    I canceled my package but changed my mind and would like to reactivate it.

    Unfortunately it isn’t possible to reactivate a package that has been canceled. You will have to repurchase the package.

     

    I’m trying to repurchase a package after a cancellation, why can’t I?

    If you are having trouble repurchasing a package after cancellation, please go to Manage Premium and click Unassign to remove the document from the package. Then try to repurchase a package again.

     

    I’m from Canada and need to add a province instead of a state on the Purchase page, what do I do?

    You can simply type your province into the State field!
